  • Peaceful family- and dog-friendly site near the banks of river Aisne
  • Half an hour’s drive from Soissons and 40 minutes from Reims
  • On-site restaurant, heated indoor pool and play area
If you’re seeking a stay at a site that welcomes dogs and families, narrow it down to Camping de la Pointe in Bourg-et-Comin, an Aisne park at the centre of a triangle made up of Laon, Soissons and Reims. As well as being close enough to these three top towns and cities for day trips, the site’s in a nifty location near a handful of historical attractions and within easy access of car-free adventures. Kick off scenic hikes and bike rides around local canals and alongside rivers or follow your compass towards lakes and ponds for fishing. Failed to land a fine specimen for supper? No problem. The restaurant just next door dishes up French cuisine using local ingredients and is run by folk who pride themselves on their traditional Breton crêpes. There’s also a takeaway option on pizzas – handy after long days out when all you want to do is get comfy in your digs for the evening. And if you fancy rustling up your own eats, barbecues are permitted. When your food’s gone down, dive into the heated indoor pool (open from April to September).

Power optional grass motorhome site

Liked This place is made amazing by the hard working couple who run the site. You can’t check in before 3pm as they are running their restaurant which is attached to the campsite. We arrived a little early and were offered drinks and food, as soon as they had finished service they checked us in and got us sorted. The loos and showers were some of the best we’ve seen in France and the pool was a real Godsend to cool off in. Sadly we only stayed one night but did have time to cycle around the canal paths and lakes in the morning before moving on. A really pretty area and great site run by nice, hardworking people!

They also order all your bread and patisserie items for collection from reception each morning at 8.30!

Power optional grass motorhome site

Liked The facilities on site were great: pool, restaurant, takeaway pizza and ice cream. The owners were very friendly and helpful too. Toilets and showers were good - no toilet roll though! Overall a great family site that isn’t too big!

Disliked It was very busy, understandably, but that meant lots of children running past and being loud most of the time we were there. Also the pitches were a little close together and the hedges round the edge were a little sparse.

Power optional grass caravan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Booked 6 sites on our 3 week trip around france. Had to be the best one out of the six. Very clean site all round. Toilets, pool, and the restaurant. Outstanding food the chips are unreal. The ice cream is something to die for. Very friendly hosts. Would highly recommend. Thank you for the free ice cream coffee and x4 croissants on our departure. Those croissants had to be the biggest ive seen. Wished i knew this was on order for every morning as definitely would of purchased. ( just thought it was bread available) thank you once again. 5 star 🌟

Power optional grass motorhome site

Liked Fantastic pool, friendly staff, gorgeous food at the restaurant. Very quiet location and overnight stop before long drive down south.

Disliked No toilet had their own designated toilet roll. You had to find one on the window sill outside the cubicles. Very random

Local attractions

History buffs will be in their element hereabouts thanks to sights like the Caverne du Dragon, the Musée du Chemin des Dames (10 minutes’ drive), an underground museum set in former war tunnels and dedicated to WWI soldiers. Vauclair Abbey (10 minutes) is another old-timey spot to visit for roams around the ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian monastery; for architecture that’s a little more intact, take yourself over to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon (25 minutes) or stroll around Soissons’ ancient centre, museums and gardens (half an hour). Another settlement to skip through is Reims for its striking basilica, cathedral and palace (40 minutes). This city – considered by many to be the capital of the Champagne region – also has a handful of houses hosting tours and tastings of the fizzy stuff the area is famed for. If sipping on bubbly hasn’t quashed your hankering for historical expeditions, head to Donjon de Septmonts (half an hour) and climb to the top of the keep for views out over the countryside. Follow up with a visit to the Fort of Condé monument (20 minutes) as well to see this 17th-century site on the Séré de Rivières system. And if the kids aren’t best pleased with all these bricks-and-mortar-based adventures? Take them along to the Parc de Coupaville adventure park (half an hour) to bound on the inflatable games.
