- Family-friendly retreat one kilometre from Busselton beach
- A 40-minute drive to Margaret River and Blackwood River National Park
- Playground and cooking facilities onsite; coastal activities nearby
Longing for a break within walking distance of snorkels, sea kayaking or mountain biking over coastal landscapes? Somewhere within driving distance of world-class vineyards and river valleys? Busselton Holiday Village is such a retreat in the centre of Busselton, a small city on the southwestern coast of Western Australia, just over 220 kilometres south of Perth.
With the sandy beach just 20 minutes’ walk away, a peaceful soak, snorkel, kayak or fishing trip are some of your options on an average morning… or perhaps a stroll onto the Busselton Jetty over the beach, where there’s an underwater observatory and a starting point for all sorts of activities including canoe tours, scuba diving, snorkelling trips and whale watching tours when it's the right season.
Drive to the wine-producing region of Margaret River (40 minutes’ drive) to wet your palate or try local produce such as olive oil, chocolate and cheese… take to the trails of the Blackwood River National Park (40 minutes) or the local coast for mountain biking or hiking… or stick to the holiday village itself, where activities include dips in the swimming pool (open during high season only) or a good grilling session on the communal gas barbecues.
Busselton Holiday Village has a boat load of equipment in the campers’ kitchen, including a hot-plate, fridge, microwave and washing-up area. When you’d rather have your tasty bites served for you, there are restaurants in the city centre within walking distance of the place.
Other nifty facilities you'll find around this place include a kids’ playground, a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers, as well as toilets and showers with baby bath facilities.

Local attractions
Whether it’s the train journey along the Busselton Jetty (20 minutes’ walk) or taking on the three-metre-deep bowl at the Busselton Skate Park (20 minutes), a short walk has lots of potential from Busselton Holiday Village.
When it comes to getting further out into the South West, the adventures continue to pick up speed. You could peer in on an aboriginal site full of stalagmites, shawls, tunnels and crystals at Ngilgi Cave (half an hour's drive), let the kids give bottle feeding farm animals a go at Wonky Windmill Farm (25 minutes) or satisfy any cravings for river activities or mountain biking in Blackwood River National Park (40 minutes).
Of course, a trip to these parts would be missing a piece without a visit to the vineyards, wine producers and food producers around the Margaret River (40 minutes) region. With all these treats for foodies and wine aficionados, there’s also plenty there to cater to adventurous tastes, from coasteering and abseiling to swimming holes or the scenery of the ancient Mammoth Cave (50 minutes) and the limestone Lake Cave (55 minutes).
