  • Five-acre site overlooking the Vale of Llangollen
  • Only half a mile from the beautiful Horseshoe Pass
  • An ideal location from which to visit Snowdonia National Park
Seeking a scenic setting close to the countryside for dawdles around Denbighshire…? Then set your sights on a stay at Abbey Grange Campsite, on a five-acre site in front of The Abbey Grange Hotel and overlooking the pretty Vale of Llangollen. Surrounded by fields and mountains, this park is half a mile from the well-known Horseshoe Pass and is a convenient base for exploring the immediate hilly surrounds or taking on treks in Snowdonia National Park (a 40-minute drive). Chances to climb, cycle, mountain bike, fish and golf are also around the local area – just ask on site for the lowdown. At the park, charging facilities are on hand for ensuring your GPS has enough batteries for when you’re out and about exploring the region, whether shopping in Llangollen, five minutes’ drive away, for food to bring back and grill up on the barbecue or ambling to the Cistercian Valley Crucis Abbey (less than a 10-minute walk). On your homecoming from hikes or other similarly energetic activities, hotel facilities such as the restaurant and bar are accessible for cosying up with a pint or a meal, and there's an outdoor play area to keep the kids busy. The site has male and female shower and toilet amenities, plus chemical disposal facilities.

What customers say

Great spot with ace views & roomy sites. Pub's a ripper, super for kids with a good playground. Toilets/showers are a bit rough, needing a spruce-up. Road noise and some party-poopers mentioned. Bit pricey for some.

Unpowered grass site

Liked The field is a good size and not crowded

Disliked The facilities weren’t great. 4 toilets that women can use and the showers are in here too, so you’re queuing if people are showering. There is one other toilet in a different block but the door doesn’t lock…
The ground is extremely rocky under the grass so it’s very difficult to put the tent pegs in. The staff were also quite rude when I went to check in, it was all very bizarre.

Liked Had a lovely time here it’s in a great location Horse shoe falls was great and I’d recommend going to see the old Abby across the road. Would definitely go again

Disliked It was freezing cold at night so pack warm stuff even if it’s hot in the day. Showers are crap no water pressure just dribbling out, if someone puts shower on in next cubicle yours goes off 🤣. Food was quite expensive in the pub aswell
