What customers say
Great spot for peace & quiet, exploring the countryside, and friendly hosts. Some reckon it's pricey for what's on offer, and there's road/train noise. Ground can be bumpy with thistles.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Nice quiet, clean and spaceous site, just as described - perfect for 1 or 2 nights, or a weekend, great spot - it had a really nice feel
Disliked Little bit of noise from the road and train line, but nothing significant

Overpriced for what it is.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Simplicity
Disliked It’s a field next to a busy road and is full of thistles. This is not a nice idillic farm campsite, just a functional place to pitch a tent.

Forgive me if I'm judgemental but it felt like opportunist profiting.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Camping was in high demand during Edinburgh festival so it was helpful to find somewhere
Disliked Basically a field with a portaloo and absolutely nothing else, no human face, no water (no thanks I won't buy your 5 litres of water for god knows how much and your over-priced breakfast!). And the charge is what you pay everywhere for camping with...showers, reception, basic facilities.... so thank you... but... you could provide water surely and reduce your charges and profit?

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear you felt this way about the campsite. It is clearly stated in the description that it is a 28 day pop-up site on a working farm and the facilities are described accurately. The pitch costs are £15 to £20 lower than some nearby sites that do have permanent facilities. This site is intended to be back-to-basics style, with numbers kept to a level that allows plenty of room for everyone, with no maximum tent sizes.
To pipe water to the field would be prohibitively expensive for 28 days of bookings. Campers are welcome to bring their own but offering bottles allows guests arriving on foot or by bike/motorbike an option of water.
The breakfasts offered are supplied by a local business that run a popular food van and as guests deal with them directly, we make no money on them whatsoever, again it was just to offer the option to guests and to try and support other local small businesses.
I visit the site at least once every day to clean the toilets and I am available on the phone at all times should guests need any further assistance.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Site has some appeal but not great value.
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Good back to basics site with flat, open, grass field and two portaloos that were clean enough when we used them.
Stayed here to access North Berwick ‘Fringe By The Sea’ event via Drem station.
Disliked Quite noisy being beside a B road that gets plenty of traffic and the East Coast Main Line Railway adjacent to that.
Not a pleasant walk to Drem - only 2 miles along the road, but there’s no footpath and it’s fairly busy.
Not really worth £25 for a campervan pitch considering limited facilities. Would value our stay at £15 tops.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Under the 28 day rule that this site opens under, we are only permitted to have one campervan or motorhome on site each night so it is fully booked for the majority of the season. We offer one of the cheapest prices for this type of pitch in the local area, with no minimum number of nights and no extra charges for awnings or gazebos.
The far side of the field offers a quieter stay than the roadside and guests are welcome to choose where they'd like to pitch on arrival.
We are a rural location with no footpaths to nearby train stations. There is a limited bus service that runs to Longniddry station or to North Berwick from the Ballencrieff Farm roundabout but it doesn't operate in the evening.
