What customers say

Great spot, chill vibes, pick your own patch. Staff are a ripper, loos are clean, and it's handy to a pub and sights. Campfires welcomed! A bit basic with no showers or sinks, but most wanna come back for a good ol' outdoorsy time.

Unpowered grass and earth site

Liked Its a lovely site and have been several times now. Very peaceful and relaxed.

Disliked Unfortunately some people arrived on the 2nd night of camping and were tearing around on quad bike. Extremely selfish disruptive behaviour which triggered one of group who has been harassed where they live by people who recklessly ride on their quad bikes on the pavement terrorising pedestrians and dog walkers. We had to complain to campsite manager and the situation was resolved.

Unpowered grass and earth site

Liked Lots of space, eco friendly loo’s, no frills campsite. Where you can cook on open fire and have a fire if you want to. Friendly staff and lots of availability as it is a big site. Close to cheddar, pub was walking distance. Some pitches a bit on the wonk as it is quite Hilly in areas but there was plenty of available space to avoid this.

Disliked The obvious no showers/ hand washing. However the place clearly states this when booking so it wasn’t a suprise.

Unpowered grass and earth site

Liked Really cheap and easy to use campsite. Perfect location for Mendips and surrounding areas. Ideal for walking ebbor gorge too. Compost loos were clean and maintained and plentiful. Access to fire pits was so useful. Staff were friendly as were other campers.
Pitch size was unlimited so perfect for a bell tent. Would definitely stay again, and maybe stay longer.
No showers but recommend a solar for camping anyway.
Handy tourist info available, fire supplied for sale until 9pm.
Pub only 5 minutes walk away but we didn’t use it this time.

Liked A fantastic campsite if you prefer the more back to basic vibe - we loved it. A well maintained and tidy campsite, no rubbish anywhere etc. Lots of space to pick from. Lovely scenery, dog friendly and friendly pub a 5 minute walk away. Both campsite and pub child friendly - nice little play area at the pub too. There seems like lots of walks you can take directly from the camp site, so no need to jump in the car.

Disliked Toilets probably not overly suitable for very young children.

Local attractions

Given the proximity of Bath and Wells, there’s an obvious temptation to regale your companions with choice one-liners from Blackadder; but pause for breath and you’ll discover that both have more celebrated charms than the baby-eating bishop. Bath probably needs less of an introduction: think Roman baths, Georgian grandeur, Jane Austen, rugby and culture aplenty; while Wells, which holds the accolade of England’s smallest city, is a medieval gem with a thirteenth century cathedral, a moated bishop’s palace, and a lively twice-weekly market. Also highly recommended is a trip to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, which offers something for all ages: breathtaking views; brilliant caving and rock climbing; walks up Jacob’s Ladder; open-top bus tours; a clutch of family attractions; eerily beautiful stalactite caverns; and, of course, more cheese than you can shake a stick at. Keen walkers will be delighted by the proximity of the Mendips (Ebborways Farm is close to the West Mendip Way, which runs to the Ebbor Gorge nature reserve); or, for those who prefer life on four wheels, there are loads of fascinating places an easy drive away: atmospheric Glastonbury, the colossal caves and family attractions at Wookey Hole, the vibrant maritime city of Bristol, the fantastic safari and adventure park at Longleat, and the sandy beaches of Weston-super-Mare. If you’re visiting in August, you may be lucky enough to coincide with Priddy’s annual sheep fair; this historic event, with animal demonstrations, a funfair and more, attracts a whopping 10,000 visitors each year. Finally, should you feel the need to indulge in our national pastime, there are more than 90 outlet shops at the Clarks Village centre, in the nearby village of Street.
