What customers say
This family-friendly spot boasts generous pitches, spick-and-span amenities, and top-notch hosts. Kids love the tyre swing & play zone, the food van, and the chill vibe. Plenty of repeat guests love its quality & welcoming feel. Fire pits & wood for sale. Great for coastal jaunts, though some note tight access roads.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The greetings from the team upon arrival. Excellent explained all where to go etc, told to drive around and pick a spot, told us the best places for a sunset or sunrise.
The loos, but showers are more adequate for the site, with plenty of them.
Jurassic Pork was a nice touch to have icecream or some breakfast or dinner when during opening hours and buying milk if needed
The sky at night was amazing, toilets never seen so many stars with no light pollution it was amazing to site outside and have a coffee and just look up.
Disliked Only stayed 1 night, so nothing to dislike.

From the manager: Thank you so much for coming to visit. Jurassic Pork is a great partner business and make lovely chips!
We also enjoy the view of stars in the night sky.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The campsite was spacious, and there was a real family vibe when we arrived. There was lots of space for our son to play and ride his bike. We felt safe letting him go to the play area on his own, and had a lot of fun playing on the tyre swing. Everyone followed the rules of being quiet after dark, and it made the whole experience very welcoming. The campsite was busy without being overcrowded.
Disliked The shower temperature could not be changed, and it was too hot for my son to use.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your stay and for writing such a kind review. I’m sorry you found the shower water too hot. We try to set it to industry standard - 37-38 degrees C, and Terry can adjust it up and down for comfort.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The safety of the field for children, they could be free to roam around making friends but always nearby. The children’s bikes, rope swing and little playground. The friendliness of the people and the cleanliness of the site, great showers, sink area and toilets, the nicest we’ve even had while camping.
We enjoyed visiting Charmouth beach for the day and Lyme Regis beach the next day. Campsite was lovely to come back to after the beaches, the children loved it and want to go again.

From the manager: Many thanks for your lovely review. Char mouth and Lyme Regis are great places to go for fossils, swimming, ice cream and relaxing.
Wonderful!!
Bell tent
Liked Another fabulous stay at Pilsdon View Campsite, just a night as was all we could fit in this year. We love Pilsdon View Campsite & have been going there for a few years now.
I bring my son who’s 9 by myself & always feel very safe, it’s ideal for my son as not too big so he can go off by himself to play with all the friends he makes!
It is such a well run campsite by the lovely owners April & Terry, they will help out with problems & will suggest places to visit if you’re stuck where to go.
There is lots of space for children to run around playing football etc but also a tyre swing, little park & bikes etc to borrow as well, my sons in his element when we’re there.
There is no WiFi but good phone reception, also no electric hook ups but they have lockers to charge phones for a small charge & ice blocks to exchange.
There is a brilliant food truck where Ashley serves breakfasts in the morning & burgers etc in the evening & also this year supplying Purbeck ice cream which was delicious for pudding!
Showers are hot & toilets kept clean.
We stay in a bell tent which is easier for us as only have to take our beds etc & cooking things but if you take your own tent you always have lots of room around where you pitch, everybody’s not crammed in.
So many lovely places to visit in the area, lots of wonderful beaches & plenty of fossil hunting opportunities!
Can not wait to be back next year & my son is already asking what date are we going to Pilsdon View Campsite next year!!
Disliked Nothing at all!

Bell tent
Liked We had a lovely stay at our new favourite campsite! Lots of little attention to detail, made the trip on my own with my two children a doddle. Family friendly, amazing shower facilities...think rainfall shower head and not a push button in sight! The pitches were level and well spaced. All three of us loved the tyre swing. On site food van was a massive bonus, plus the facility to buy ice blocks and milk. The clear skies at night made for perfect meteor shower viewing. The site is well placed for visiting Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Would highly recommend giving mackerel fishing a go in Lyme Regis!

From the manager: The tyre swing is enjoyed by visitors of all ages. We are delighted that you enjoyed your family camping trip here. The Persuid meteor shower is always fun. Time to wish upon a star!
A beautiful campsite- a great base for seeing the Jurassic coast!
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Friendly hosts
Super clean facilities
Huge pitches
Quiet at night - everyone is settled by 10pm
Perfect for stargazing
Jurassic Pork serving breakfast and dinner - YUMMY!
Small park and tyre swing for the younger children
Milk, cool blocks and charging of devices available
Shade available on those really hot days
Bridport is close by with a large Morrisons
Lyme Regis is an easy distance away
Seatown beach is pebbly, but great for swimming
Limited signal and internet! BLISS
Disliked Absolutely nothing. This was our 5th visit and we will return!
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for this very comprehensive review. We love to see families relaxing here, or coming back from the beach having had a day in and out of the sea or collecting fossils.

Peaceful haven of a site
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Lovely clean, quiet well kept site. Pilsdon view was so peaceful! April and Graham always have a smile on their face and stop for a chat between their never ending to do list. The personal
Welcome after a long drive was lovely. Showers always perfect temperature and clean and the loos always stocked with soap and looroll.
Turning right out the campsite site leads to some interesting country roads if you don’t like blind bends left is a better option but the roads are worth it to get to such a nice site.
The dark skies at night are perfect for star gazing after a fun filled day. Perfect position for Charmouth, Lyme Regis and other Jurassic coast beaches. 3 nights wasn’t enough and we hope to return again on the future
They are being extra cautious in this prolonged heat and it’s reassuring to see that campfires are not allowed at present and BBQs needed to be very controlled. Other sites aren’t being so safety conscious.
Disliked Nothing
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you very much for your review with all the pictures. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. With Jurassic Pork on-site supper can be sorted without needing to barbecue.
Didn’t end up staying for the evenings we had booked.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The view and open space for kids
Disliked It’s a health and safety risk, the showers are linked up to open lid buttresses where flies are laying and the water is merky. All it would take is one child to open their mouth whilst showering and you could have an incredibly ill child.
The field is also not cleared making the grass painful to walk on without any shoes at all.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We are disappointed to receive this very negative and damaging review. Our showers are cleaned daily, or more often if needed. The shower water is taken directly from the mains and is drinking quality water. It is heated at the point of use by a gas powered heater. The grey water drains through a professionally installed drain. In ten years of use there has never been an incident of illness following use of our showers.
We are not sure what is meant by the field not being cleared. The field was mown in June and, although the grass is dry and spiky, it is no worse than grass anywhere in the Vale.
