What customers say
Basic rural spot with bonza views & friendly folk. Spacious sites, dated but clean facilities (hot water too). Some found it hilly/narrow access. Watch for tripping power, muddy bits, and pooch leash rules. Site entry & facilities getting a spruce-up.

Disliked Avoid! Stayed one night with the dog on long lead because few sheep in next field in the morning the woman who owns the site came marching over shouting about the dog needs to be on lead ( he was ) very rude said we was leaving because of hostile attitude to shout bye !!! Some man was gob smacked so if you have a dog avoid it owner is an emotional wreck .

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
When you arrived you asked if your dog needed to be on a lead and were told that due to there being sheep in the neighbouring field yes plus it is in the rules of the site for dogs to be on leads at all times. You were even offered some baler twine if you needed to make a longer lead but said you had a longer one with you. Unfortunately your dog was in the field with the owners sheep chasing them around when you were approached by a member of staff and reminded about dogs on leads. You also were unable to recall your dog at that time so they continued chasing the sheep until you got them under control. Luckily the sheep were unharmed but were very stressed by this incident. This is a farm campsite with a small amount of livestock hence the need for dogs on leads.

Liked Quiet peaceful site. Basic facilities but this is stated in the description. (Facilities could do with a bit of a freshen up/clean though).
Large pitches and found a flat enough one for our Campervan.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
We have looked into the maggots, and can not identify where the maggots where coming from. It may have been to do with some other guests rubbish but we are not sure. You would have been welcome to inform a member of staff when they appeared, so this could have been dealt with immediately. No reports have been made to a member of staff regarding voles, so we were unaware of this and will investigate.
Our details state that our facilities are basic. We strive to keep them clean and well stocked. Part of this is cleaning the facilities twice a day, more if needed during busy times. We would then clear up any messes, such as maggots, immediately on discovery. We are looking into renovating our facilities for next summer.
The costal path is from the beach and the beach is a 1.25 miles from our site. A lot of costal villages are reached by narrow lanes. Many of our guests enjoy the village and country charm our walk supplies with their family's. There are maps available showing a foot path accessible form our site but this only takes you part of the way down the hill to Branscombe.

Liked Really nice stay. Had a fire and a bbq every night. Other guests were really respectful. Was greeted with a smile on arrival and sent on our way. Beach nearby, pubs nearby, beautiful views. Sheep at one end of the field. Wild horses came to say hello
