  • Site on the edge of the Blackdown Hills with a covered pool
  • Seven miles from the Jurassic Coast; kids' paddling pool on site
  • Bar and restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays (or daily in high season)
For proximity to the sea without the higher prices of parks directly on the coast, take a look at Andrewshayes Caravan Park. Benefiting from the backdrop of the Blackdown Hills, this middling-sized sheltered site is only seven miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, so the fossil beaches and seaside resorts are within easy reach. Pull up a pew in the bright conservatory to watch the kids swim in the covered pool. The onsite bar is the place to be for drinks of an evening. There’s also a restaurant and takeaway service for those who want to put their feet up after a hard day’s relaxation. The bar, restaurant and takeaway are open on Friday and Saturdays only during low season, and daily during high season in the school holidays (in the school hols, the bar lays on live singers and bingo at night too). Once the small fry have been fished out of the pool, there’s an adventure playground and games room to occupy them, plus a soft play area for the younger kids. Man’s best friend is welcome too, with good exercise areas on site.

Liked Friendly and welcoming staff.
Getting towed on and off your pitch.
Not needing to book swimming and was under cover. Very clean and spacious.
Spacious park and football pitch.
Quiet pitch’s and well kept.
Chickens roaming around.
Games room for the children. Plenty to keep all ages occupied.
Free WiFi was excellent!!
Lovely scenery of the countryside.

Disliked Electric amp!!! Can only have 1 appliance on at a time so cooking dinner was made stressful as if you had 2 appliances on at a time it would trip the switch.
On a cold morning we couldn’t have the heater on and the kettle on at the same time either. The electric box being outside your caravan not at the back so a few times when it was dark people tripped over the cable which made it quite dangerous especially with young children.
Showers - very cold hardly any heat to them. The shower and toilet block it self had no heating on which made the showers even worse when you tried getting dried and warm after.
Was told when arriving that we can’t pitch with friends and we had to state that when booking but we saw no information stating this when booking. Made our trip a little less enjoyable as they were down the hill and we were up the top.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We are really sorry that you experienced problems with the electric. Like most campsites the feed is 10amps which means that exactly as you described, you cannot run high-wattage appliances simultaneously. We recommend people bring low-wattage camping appliances or use gas for the kettle and cooking instead of electric.
Re the showers we did not have anyone tell us about the water being cold while you were staying so it was not an issue we were aware of to look into.
Lastly we do accommodate pitching families together but due to the layout of the site customers do need to request this in advance during busy weeks.
We appreciate all the positives and hope that other aspects do not put you off returning.

All-weather powered concrete slab site

Liked Very friendly welcome and shown directly to our campervan pitch. The pitch was large and flat so no faffing about with ramps needed!
Clean and spacious toilet and shower facilities. Good washing up area and useful to have a microwave and kettle available near the freezer and washing machines.
Nice bar and restaurant. Food was tasty and good value.
Swimming pool looked nice but didn’t get a chance to use it this time. We’ll be back though!

All-weather powered concrete slab site

Liked Beautiful site, quiet with nice clean facilities and lovely staff who are helpful and friendly. Loved the pool which is available all day and just perfect with younger kids too. Lovely little orchard to pick a few pears and apples. Great spot to visit the Jurassic coast from. Would love to come back next year again in one of the lovely static caravans there.

Disliked The only thing for us was not being able to grab a coffee on site or a breakfast if not making it yourself but that is really minor. There is a Starbucks 10 min along the road also and plenty of lovely places to get food early on if needed.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Currently we are only able to open our bar/restaurant for the evenings, but we appreciate your feedback regarding hot drinks/breakfast options being available and we will certainly see if this is something that can be considered for the future.

Unfortunately we do understand that our Wi-Fi provision is limited in some areas, but we try our best to get the signal to cover as much of the Holiday Park as possible and we are making continuous updates in this area. We do have a vast array of lovely big trees on-site, but unfortunately this does interfere with the Wi-Fi signal slightly also!

All-weather powered concrete slab site

Liked We had a great time, the site was well maintained and the staff were all very friendly. The play area had been updated since our last visit a few years ago, it’s nice to see that they reinvest to keep the ire in good condition.

Disliked The pool could do with a little updating next and a bath in the family bathroom would have been handy but that is a very minor issue.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, we're happy to have welcomed you back again and are glad to hear that your family enjoyed our new play area!

We are actually updating our pool over the 2025 winter period, so this will be refreshed for our 2026 season. We hope to welcome you back again so you can see the changes we make!

Liked Pitches were a good size..Nice pub and swimming pool.lovely clean shower/toilet block

Disliked Kids racing around on electric bikes and at night with no lights on didn't care nearly taking us off our feet

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed your pitch and the facilities that we have on-site.

We are sorry to hear that the children of some other guests were using their bikes after dark and that this nearly caused an impact with yourselves. We do try our best to enforce that children should be in the care of their parents from 9:30pm onwards in the summer months and from dark in the shoulder months. We expect them to be careful when riding bikes/scooters etc at any time of day, and riding them in the dark would not be appropriate. We will ensure our on-call wardens continue to politely enforce these rules during their facility close down walks in the evenings/later at night, and if there are any future issues please do not hesitate to call the on-call warden mobile number and they can assist at the time.

All-weather powered concrete slab site

Liked Friendly staff, unhook on arrival and they take your caravan to your pitch. I'd asked for a pitch near everything as Mr is disabled. We were right near the bar/restaurant which was great except the pitch we had, had an incline to get on to the road which was hard work for Mr but we managed. The pitch size was a great size. Toilet and shower block nearby which was clean and plenty of toilets. Great swimming pool which my youngest loved.

From the manager: Thank you very much for your kind review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are happy to discuss pitch accessibility should you wish to come and stay again.
