  • Quiet adults-only site in the middle of the Land's End peninsula
  • Spacious pitches marked with hedges; smart modern bathroom block
  • A 10-minute drive from Sennen Cove and the Land's End viewpoint
Want to run away from it all but avoid the crowds of Cornwall in clement weather? Head to the end of the country and pitch up near smashingly scenic Land's End at family-run Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park. This is a site for those into their scenery: the four and three-quarter acres of grounds have been carefully landscaped to be filled with flowers, trees and shrubs, alongside roomy pitches that are thoughtfully laid out and individually marked with hedges. Award-winning Sennen Cove – full of surfing spots, wildlife watching and stunningly scenic sands – is less than three miles away. Cardinney's facilities include a well-stocked shop that sells Calor gas alongside grocery essentials. It's also got a fully equipped launderette and a smart luxury bathroom block (newly opened for the 2021 season).

What customers say

Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park: Adults only, peaceful with spotless facilities. Praised for spacious, level pitches (often hedged for privacy). Easy access, auto barriers, friendly staff. Great for West Cornwall. Shop stock limited, WiFi can be spotty. Highly recommended for a quiet, well-kept stay.

Liked Beautiful location and surprisingly quiet, even though it's just off the A30. The well maintained lawns and hedges make you feel like you're camping in someone's garden! The blue hydrangeas are everywhere & so pretty. It was easy to set up as the ground was ideal and pegs went in easily. Nice & flat so no sleeping on a slope or bumps!

On a practical note there's a water tap for every pitch, so I didn't have to keep carrying water across the site and had access to fresh cold water all the time.

My all electric pitch was next to the loos & shower block, which have been clad in timber so they don't spoil the natural feel of the site. As a solo traveller with a dog this was super handy, being so close I could leave her securely asleep in my tent while I showered. They've even thought of putting dog 'parking' poles outside the loos so you can leave them there if appropriate (Lola is very reactive so better off in the tent)!

There's a lovely, secure dog walking field nearby which is super useful for early morning walks before heading out for the day. Nothing worse than heading straight out to the beach & your dog needs a 💩 !! The 💩 bin was emptied regularly so no nasty whiffs while I sat on the thoughtfully provided bench enjoying my morning coffee.

The camera recognition entry barrier is a great idea, so you can come & go as you please. It also means you feel more secure on site.

The small on site shop is handy and they stock yummy local ice-cream 😋 Friendly team managing the site but they remain discreet and allow you space to enjoy your privacy.

And the icing on the cake, they offer a sole traveller discount. Nice touch 😊

Disliked Not a 'dislike' but a consideration...... if you're looking for that campsite vibe with other travellers, sharing stories & banter around a campfire, this probably isn't the site for you. Everyone I met was lovely but in the evening everyone disappears into their own caravan / tent. BBQs are allowed but I didn't see any .... apart from my own!

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site (premium)

Liked Peaceful location
Close to coast and walks etc
Quiet and with zero light pollution so great for star gazing.

Disliked lack of toilet and shower facilities for a fairly large park wich led to queues on occasion
Tap located too far from caravan on pirch 16 serviced pitch, so we had to rush out to buy another hose - we've never had this problem before.
The premium pitch we were on was quite narrow compared to other sites we've been to.

Local attractions

Have a look at the leaflets in Cardinney's information hut to see the best of what's nearby: sandy beaches, surfing, golf, fishing, horse riding and seaside towns and villages are all within five miles. Land's End first, of course… of all the scenic spots in Cornwall, this is among the most spectacular, and you'll probably need a couple of days at least roaming around the beaches, coves and cliffs here... Secluded Sennen Cove and its sparkling sands are a first stopoff for many, who come to soak up the sun on its sands or tackle the waves on its surf. Whitesands Beach is also well regarded for surf and joins up with the mile of beach at Gwenver where the waves are a bit stronger (all three beaches are lifeguarded in summer). On the cliffs, many suggest that one of the best Land's End occupations is just to sit and watch the waves crashing below, but if you're itching for a hike, visit the visitors' centre for a list of walks around the area, or the RSPB Wildlife Discovery Centre just below the famous Land's End signpost to find out what species you can see. In the evening, the famed open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is probably one of this area's best-known manmade things, set into the cliffs and listed as one of the most spectacular theatres in the world. The season runs from May to September, but tickets are available to look around the theatre and gardens during the day. Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park is an obliging base for other much-visited Cornish attractions like National Trust houses and gardens and yet more spectacular beaches: try Godolphin at Helston, Flambards theme park, or lying on the sands at Marazion, Mousehole or along the coast at St Ives.
