  • Friendly family-run site near the Lizard Peninsula
  • Coverack village harbour and beach under a mile away
  • Sports field, games room, launderette and plenty of space for play
'In a brilliant spot' is how a gratified former guest has described the setting of Little Trevothan Caravan Park near Coverack... this peaceful and friendly family park is secludedly set, but within easy reach of heaps of Cornish attractions: the Lizard Peninsula, Kynance Cove, Flambards theme park, St Michael's Mount, Poldark Mine, the National Maritime Museum and the National Seal Sanctuary are a mere handful of top destinations easily reached from here, as well as fishing, surfing and swimming galore around the seas and sands of the south coast. Little Trevothan is among 10 acres of well-maintained lawns, hedges and shrubs, close to the coves and beaches of the Lizard Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and 20 minutes' walk from the pubs, shops and shores of Coverack fishing village for swimming and watersports. The site has a family games room and a small shop (open during high season), and plenty of space in the sports field and playground for kids to run around. Among the amenities are a washroom block with toilets and free hot showers, a launderette with washing machines and dryers, and a washing-up area. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Liked 2nd time visiting this site and we loved every minute yet again. Beautifully quiet with when we stayed, the pitches are large enough for a large tent and a gazebo and you can park next to it. The location is abit remote but not a problem as Helston is only about 20 minutes drive and has plenty of supermarkets. The local beach of Coverack is about a 30 minute walk away with a couple of shops selling coffee and snacks and of course ice creams. Facilities on the site are second to none. 2 shower blocks which are impeccably clean with plenty of hot water. They have 2 washing machines and tumble driers which are coin operated so bring plenty of change if you want to use them. They even have a barrel to wash wet suits and bathing costumes so as not to sandy up the washing facilities I’m guessing. The site is dog friendly with 2 secure dog walking fields and even a shower to wash them too. They have a small shop with the essentials and although we’ve never had to buy anything it looked reasonably priced. All in all a majorly nice site if you’re looking for peace and quiet. We will definitely be back for a third visit. Oh yeah and the WiFi signal was excellent. 👍🏼

Liked Lovely camp site, all pitches larger than normal and beautifully kept. The amenities were outstanding with everything provided and more. We have never stayed at such wonderful site as this before, we will be back that's for sure!!!

Disliked nothing to dislike. Would have been handy if a barrier key card safe was available to drop off on vacating out of hours, but we just slid the keycard under to reception door

Liked The site is immaculately maintained, pitches are generously sized . The 2 weeks we were there were very quiet even allowing for the Womens Euros quarter finals! The owners are super friendly and helpful. The small site shop has plenty of essential items and on one occasion they even raided their own kitchen for a missing spice ingredient. The toilet and shower blocks look recently upgraded and were always very clean. We found the laundry washing and the ice block freezers very useful. We will be back. Thanks to all the staff.

Liked The site was immaculately clean and tidy. We were welcomed by lovely hosts who took time to identify the key features of the site. Toilets and showers extremely well maintained and cleaned regularly. Great wifi enabled us to watch Wimbledon which was a bonus. The site shop was well stocked with everything you could possibly need.
We had a pitch with an electric hook up which was great. Fresh drinking water tap was close to our pitch too.
Overall, quiet and peaceful site which I would highly recommend.

Liked Beautifully clean park with great organisation and all the facilities needed for a great stay. Lovely clean toilet and shower block ( regularly cleaned) upon arrival the gentleman was very welcoming and gave us lots of local information which we found very useful. Excellent WiFi signal too , a thoroughly enjoyable stay , one of the cleanest sites we’ve stayed at.

Disliked Only negative would be to have your own water supply per pitch , but nevertheless the tap was relatively close to our pitch , but other sites have individual which makes life even better, perhaps something to think about for future ?!

Local attractions

The nearest Cornish waters are at Coverack, about a mile away, and you'll also want to have a day at gorgeous Kennack Sands, reachable in less than three miles. Spectacular Kynance Cove, a couple of miles north of Lizard Point, is part of the West Lizard Site of Special Scientific Interest and was a favoured spot of arty sorts like Wordsworth for its scenic peninsula setting. Family days out nearby include the Cornish Seal Sanctuary and Flambards theme park, eight and nine miles away; Falmouth and its National Maritime Museum, and the Poldark Mine, to try some gold panning and to see how tin miners did it way back when. Paradise Park, an award-winning wildlife sanctuary with indoor play centre, is about 20 miles away at Hayle. If you fancy a ramble or a hike, head inland to wander the banks of the Helford river before catching the ferry for a sup and a bite at the Ferry Boat Inn near Falmouth; more energetically, hike a local section of the South West Coast Path from Coverack to Helford or the Lizard, or tackle the 10 miles from Helford to Falmouth via the Helford river and Pendennis Castle. The beaut scenery of tidal island St Michael’s Mount is 18 miles away; in the other direction, the Eden Project is about an hour's drive away near St Austell.
