What customers say

Top spot! Friendly, chilled campsite, great vibe. Spacious, flat sites, clean hot showers, helpful hosts. On-site shop's a treat. Fab base for New Forest & beaches. Eco-friendly too. Quick queues for toilets, they're compostable but clean.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely place. Only stayed one night with my toddler as it was their first camping experience. Excellent space and facilities.

Disliked Not so much a reflection on the campsite, but you need a car to get anywhere. We walked to the pub around the corner and it was a bit hairy one the roads!

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked We loved the friendly welcoming owners, the very clean toilets, the fire pit hire and ability to pre-order logs, the beautiful setting, the extensive recycling facilities.

Disliked The only downsides were the shower curtain attaching itself to my body while showering and that there wasn’t any hot water to wash up with.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked I recently stayed at this camping site and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The team running it are truly amazing and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From the moment I arrived, they greeted me with genuine warmth and friendliness. At one point, I had an issue with my car and they didn’t hesitate to step in and help me jump start it. That kind of support really made me feel cared for and at ease. The facilities at the campsite are top-notch, clean, and very well maintained. You can tell the staff put a lot of effort into keeping everything comfortable for visitors. What stood out the most was how friendly the team was—they chatted with me as if we had been old friends for years. This made the whole atmosphere feel very relaxed and homely. The location of the site is excellent, surrounded by nature and incredibly peaceful. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, disconnect, and recharge. I especially loved how quiet it was at night, with only the sounds of nature around. The sense of community at the campsite was very genuine and welcoming. It’s rare to find such a balance of great facilities and such personal, thoughtful hospitality. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Plenty of space, friendly and helpful staff, small bar to buy drinks and snacks. Our kids were fascinated by the compost toilets and we all enjoyed being able to have a fire pit to make it a “real” camping experience!

Liked Literally just got back and already looking forward to going again next year! The Manor is run by a lovely family - they’re so welcoming & you won’t be short of a laugh or two. Location is great! Short drive to a dog friendly beach. Facilities were spot on. They give you so much space. We paid extra for a fire pit and wood, which we’d definitely recommend. At night there’s pizza and music at reception. Just all round a great stay! See you next year!!! Love Lucy, Dan & Boyd 🐾

Local attractions

Beach day, anyone? There are plenty of options for your daily dose of sand and sea. Milford on Sea beach (10 minutes’ drive) has very easy access in the high season. You might want to practise your bodyboarding at Highcliffe beach (15 minutes), paddle at Mudeford beach (15 minutes) or indulge in watersports at Avon beach (15 minutes). Other places for a dip (or a snooze and some sandcastle building if you’re feeling like a lazier day) are Sandbanks beach (45 minutes) and Boscombe beach (half an hour). Bournemouth (35 minutes) has plenty of seaside entertainment too, as well as an aquarium with a penguin enclosure. As for the quirky stuff, the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes) has a collection of restored motorcycles, including factory racers and exotic prototypes. Arty types might want to visit the Forest Arts Centre (five minutes) too. Put some peaceful walks in your plans too… there’s plenty to explore around the 24-acre Steamer Point Nature Reserve (15 minutes). It’s close to Highcliffe Castle (15 minutes), a grand Grade I-listed mansion that will add in some history.
