One of the best sites I’ve stayed at. (Out of 150+).
Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked It was easy to read pre instructions on welcome email, well signposted, easy access (arrived after 10pm), warm toilet and hot showers.
Great site, good facilities and a very reasonable price
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

From the manager: Hi Joanne Thank you for your great review. We hope to see you back at Barleylands again soon.
Big clean site great for short stays
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Campsite broken down into small sections, so big site didn’t seem overwhelming.
Security gate closed at night.
Disliked Toilets block were small for the size of the campsite, although they were brand new and lovely.
No reception to check you in, all details sent in your confirmation email.
From the manager: Hi Elaine thank you for your review and feedback. We hope to see you back at Barleylands again soon.
Nice site , great location and facilities
Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Lovely green fields with horses around . Clean shower and toilet facilities .
Disliked Pitches not very big so means you are close to each other .
From the manager: Hi Candice thank you for your review and feedback. Most of our pitches are generous in size. If you change your mind about a return visit you can always call us to ensure you book one of our larger pitches.
Excellent place
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked The site is so clean and well maintained. Would defo come back here
From the manager: Thank you for your great review. We hope to see you back at Barleylands again soon.
Great site, good sized pitches, very clean
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Good sized pitches, lots of space and areas for the children to play. Facilities nice and clean and well positioned, there’s two toilet / shower blocks so you’re never far from one of them. During our stay (only there one night) , saw staff on 3 occasions checking and cleaning the blocks . Pitch very easy to find with good signage directing you to your pitch. Site monitored by cctv and saw a patrol on a few occasions driving round so felt very safe there. Great that you can take a fire pit and sit round the fire at night
Disliked Nothing
From the manager: Hi Iain, Thank you for your great review and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you back at Barleylands again soon.
There's nothing to this place unless you are travelling with children.
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Decent pub in nearby village. Flat pitches.
Disliked Sewerage smell in places near the toilets. Shower temperature adjustment stuck on very hot.
From the manager: Thank you for staying at Barleylands and taking the time to leave a review. And thank you for your feedback. We are in the process of investigating the smell from the toilet block and we will get the shower temperatures checked. Barleylands is very much a family themed attraction, however we have our craft village nearby which offers many different types of interests including glassblowing and pottery and we also haveEscape beauty on site. We appreciate that not every campsite will always be the preferred campsite for each and every guest, however we do pride ourselves on our excellent nearby facilities, transport connections and proximity to Essex countryside and coastline.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site
Liked Lovely site, very clean toilets, friendly staff and nice large pitches. Lots to do and see.
Disliked There is no way to walk to the local farm shop. Both exit gates have padlocks on them which are opposite the shop. A good idea would be to have a public gate with a combination code on it so people who are staying on site can access the shop. It is not walkable due to it being on a main road with no pavement
A good stay, value for money
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Good large pitch, good communication and pitch was easy to find.
Phone had great 5g signal.
Disliked Whilst the toilets were clean and tidy, in the women’s toilets near the stables, only 1 of the 2 loos had a lock on the door, something which I would think is an easy fix.
