What customers say

Great for families, this quiet spot has a chilled vibe. Rick the owner's a legend – super friendly, helpful, and great to deal with. Lovely location with a decent pub nearby and cracking views. Facilities are basic but clean, with ongoing upgrades. Some found the unisex loos and showers a bit iffy, but it’s good value overall.

Unpowered grass campervan site (small)

Liked Easy booking for a rooftop tent as already shown as accepted on the booking page.
Pitched in D field with ehu and pitches were big and marked out easily. Communication with Rick was brilliant from booking up until the date of arrival.
Shower facilities were good, hot and available. Despite visiting on August bank holiday both me and my husband managed to shower without queuing both mornings. The toilets were also easily available.

Pennine powered gravel and concrete motorhome site

Liked Such a friendly welcome from Rick who never seems to stop working.

Great location and plenty of space to accommodate our motorhome.

Farm shop a few minutes away which was superb.

There is a local pub within 5 minutes walk away also (didn’t get chance to visit although others staying were recommending a visit).

Unpowered grass campervan site (small)

Liked Great little camp , we booked two pitches one for camper with electric, one none electric for tent , owners kindly put us together when allocating the spaces , we loved our little pitch although away from the toilets etc , it was nice and quiet and clean with a view off watching the sheep doing their rounds up and down the field. Family friendly.
Fire pits and wood is available on site for an extra cost however we brought or own , seen many people renting these.
Toilets are very basic but they do the job ,
Basket ball area with foot ball nets for the kids on site.
We will 100% be returning to this camp

Local attractions

Whether you’re after challenging fell hikes or waterside cycle rides, the Lakes are outdoor-activities central. There are watery adventures (sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and plenty more) to be had on Lake Windermere, or for a change of pace, take the kids to meet Peter Rabbit at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction (all around an hour's drive). Get the bucket and spade out for family trips to seaside Blackpool (30 minutes), where you can be scared witless on thrill rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and reward your bravery with comforting fish and chips on the South Pier. On rainy days (which can sometimes occur in northern England), watch acrobats at Blackpool Tower Circus, or whizz to the top of the tower for Irish Sea and Lake District views. Back near base, there’s a lot happening in Preston (15 minutes) too. Let the kids run around in Avenham Park while you admire the Japanese Garden, or you can puff around Preston Docks on the Ribble Steam Railway (10 minutes).
