What customers say
Cosy bush campsite, easy stroll to Coniston Water for swims & water sports. Clean facilities, honesty shop praised. Some found pitches tight/muddy, but most enjoyed the peace. Great for walks & scenic drives.

Very happy. Good camping experience.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Good clean facilities. Good location to go on to the lake, or hang around at the lake beaches.
Disliked The camping ground was only large enough for 4 or 5 tents, which was fine for us. May be a different experience if there were any selfish campers nearby, as there would be no escape.
Also, when we arrived, we had very little infor of where to camp, as there was no reception.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Nice location in woodland this very small campsite has only 4 pitches and is a short walk from the lake side for wild swimming - good hot shower and facilities and nice cakes from the treats shed- note the pitches are quite close together and they do encourage bbqs so can get noisy / smoky so bring a fire extinguisher, Imodium and ear plugs,

Great site and spacing of pitches.

Liked Good location, and use of facilities well stocked and cleaned. Pitches were well spaced and nice to have a additional bench on each section. Will definitely book again.

Liked We loved the location, so close to the Lakeside and a nearby walk above the site. The pitch was indeed muddy and solid as advertised!
The washroom facilities were excellent; clean and warm; with hot water and heaters! We appreciated the honesty hut and treated ourselves a couple of times.
We loved the wildlife: bats, deer and owls all seen from the site, and we also; for the first time in all out camping trips enjoyed the use of a fire pit!
We loved the lack of pitches, meaning it was a quiet site!

A small tranquil camping site within a 5-10 minutes walk to the lake
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked This is such a great spot! We camped surrounded by trees full of lovely birds that serenaded us every morning as the sun rose. Coniston lake is just across the road and accessible to all through a public footpath and little beach. There are two small bathrooms, with toilets and showers (nice hot water) and heating. There is also a little treat shop cabin where you help yourself and have a honesty box for you to pay.
We had a bonfire in the morning and evening, which makes the camping experience so much nicer.
Disliked The one thing that is really needed is an available socket (or two!) to charge devices (phones, tablets/iPads, music players, smart watches, dog tracker, etc.) or connect a hairdryer. I know many people who wouldn't use this beautiful site just because of the lack of a socket.
