Newlands Farm is a peaceful site on a working farm surrounded by splendid Northumberland countryside and with the added bonus of views over the coastline towards Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle.
There are only a handful of pitches on the spacious field, so you’ll have plenty of privacy and breathing room here. Ask on site about good places to get out for a walk if you want to stretch your legs a bit more – there are plenty of great places to ramble nearby.
This handy rural location means that you’ll be away from the area’s main tourist hubs, but with easy access to all the hotspots when you want them – get in the car and you can get down to Bamburgh and Holy Island within 20 minutes.
Access to the site is nice and straightforward here: you can drive to your pitch if you like, or park up by the gate and walk on over. The A1 is just a few minutes’ drive away, so this would make a handy stopover point for those on long journeys north or south.
Facilities here are on the simple side, with just a unisex long-drop compost loo in the field (running drinking water is not available on site so you're advised to bring your own if possible; drinking water can be requested if need be). If you fancy adding something of a luxury touch to your off-grid break, you can also hire firepits or request breakfast deliveries – hampers include very local bits to cook, including bacon, sausages, eggs, black pudding and homemade beans.
For other foodie needs, it’s a mile and a half to Belford for a small supermarket and farm shop.
