Camping field at crows nest with sea views.
Heated indoor pool with waterslides
Family bar with guitar-shaped bar and music memorabilia

  • Dog-friendly park five miles from Scarborough and 2.5 from Filey
  • Award-winning amenities block, family bathroom and launderette
  • Indoor heated pool, lounge bar, family bar, play area and supermarket
Feel free as a bird at award-winning Crows Nest Caravan Park between Scarborough and Filey – this well-maintained place is roomy, green and has sea views overlooking gorgeous Gristhorpe Bay and Scarborough Castle. Crows Nest is five miles from Scarborough and two and a half miles from Filey, but if you’re taking a break from the seaside/ exploring the North Yorkshire coast there’s loads to do on site too: a lounge bar with entertainment in peak season to suit all ages and tastes, a family bar with pool tables, a games room, a play area for little fledglings and a heated indoor pool with poolside assistants during high season. The award-winning amenities block a short walk from the tent field has free hot showers, wash basins, hairdryers and socket/shaver points, and there are also family bathrooms and a disabled-access shower room. Elsewhere on site there’s a washing-up area, launderette, chemical disposal point and well-stocked supermarket. And, as you can’t come to the coast and not have fish and chips, there’s also a chippy takeaway open in high season (but they do have more fish and chips in Scarborough too). Bringing the family friend? Crows Nest Caravan Park is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed in the conservatory area of the lounge bar; there's also a dog park on site.

What customers say

A ripper spot with awesome sea views & coast path access. Clean loos, showers & pool generally get a thumbs up. Great tucker from the chippy & shop. Kids love the playground & shows. Friendly vibe & handy for exploring, but can get a bit hectic & noisy during peak season.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked We had a great time, we camped near the cliff top.
We had phone signal, toilets, showers, a shop and entertainment.
What more do you need?
The staff needed a bit of cheering up but apart from that...cracking.
We will return, gladly.

Elle L.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Large fenced off play area

Large toilet and shower block which is cleaned regularly.

On site fish and chip shop is very good!

Handy little shop on site to sell basics, and even bags of ice for cool box.

The ability to pitch your tent wherever you wish if staying non electric.

Entertainment in the bar for both adults and children, and when checking in get info for opening times for everything etc.

Location is great, and access to nature trails along the cliff. Can walk to Scarborough (6 miles) and Filey (3 miles)

Short drive to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington/Whitby so lots to explore!

Tesco, Lidl etc short drive away to stock up on food/drink

Disliked Swimming pool is smaller than imagined which wasn’t an issue, but the chlorine strength was over powering and myself and the kids could only manage 10 minutes as eyes were burning! Either too much chemicals, or simply lack of ventilation as no windows open.

Due to being able to pitch where you want some people would lack common sense and try pitch a tent too close for comfort.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed review, Elle. We’re so pleased you and your family enjoyed the location, facilities and atmosphere on park, and it’s lovely to hear you’d like to return. Our pool is monitored regularly and chlorine levels are kept within recommended guidelines, but it’s always best for swimmers to shower beforehand to help maintain the balance. We’ll also pass on your comment about ventilation to our team. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked The view we were right at the top over looking the sea that's what made our holiday

Disliked Toilets and shower block where absolutely disgusting felt more dirty having a shower

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback Megan. We’re glad you enjoyed the cliff top views during your stay. Our toilet and shower facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the day, though at busy times they can be used in between cleans. We’ll share your comments with the team as we are always looking to improve.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site (overflow)

Liked Good located campsite ( overflow pitch).
Well stocked shop you can find everything you needed for breakfast , bbq etc.
Great facilities ,showers with nice hot water.
Quite expensive but delicious fish and chips !
Only one downside we found were very noisy seagulls at 4 o'clock in the morning and toilets located quite far from the pitch that were open over the night.
Definitely we'll come back again!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay on the overflow field and found the shop well stocked and the showers nice and hot. The fish and chips are always a treat too. Being on the cliff top does mean the seagulls can be a little noisy at times, but we’re pleased it didn’t spoil your stay and that you’d like to return. We look forward to welcoming you back.

I would definitely attend again. The staff were friendly.

Lisa L.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site (overflow)

Liked Lots of amazing facilities like a bar, swimming pool, shop which is well stocked, playground for the kids and it’s in a great location. There were portaloos available for the overflow field.

Disliked The portaloos had no water for washing hands and were often out of toilet roll. The toilet blocks also ran out of paper a lot even though I know the site team did drive around in the mornings to refill. I wonder whether a spare needs leaving in each cubicle?

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind comments, Lisa. We’re delighted you enjoyed the facilities, location and the welcome from our team. The overflow field is only used at the busiest times of year, with portaloos provided as an extra facility alongside the main toilet and shower blocks. Our staff check and restock toilet paper regularly, but your suggestion about leaving a spare in each cubicle is very helpful and we’ll look into it for next year. We look forward to welcoming you back again.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site (overflow)

Liked Staff happy to accommodate a pitch request. The site is in an amazing location, so be prepared for it to be very busy. Everything you need is on the site, a great place to keep everyone entertained.

Disliked I didn’t realise it was such a large field with so many pitches. It’s great for those looking for a bustling holiday but we prefer quiet. Luckily they were very happy to let us pitch up away from all the fun. Also as so many people it was hard for the cleaning team to keep on top of the showers and toilets.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re glad the team were able to accommodate your pitch request and that you enjoyed the location and facilities. Bank Holiday is our busiest time of year, which does make the park feel lively, but we’re pleased you were able to find a quieter spot to enjoy your stay.

Nicola W.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site (overflow)

Liked Lots of room on the overflow. Great little shops and bar. Really enjoyed our stay.

Disliked Too many people let in the pool and once. Need more toilets/showers.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Nicola for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed your first camping trip with us and made the most of the facilities. The pool can be very popular at peak times, and the overflow field is only used on our busiest weekends, which can make the facilities feel busier. We’re pleased you still had a great stay.

Local attractions

Leave the car behind: buses running between Scarborough and Bridlington pick up from the end of the Crows Nest Caravan Park drive and discount day tickets are available to keep more money for seaside rock. The kids will probably clamour first for Scarborough: there are the North Bay and South Bay beaches to bounce around as well as the traditional seaside fairground and donkey rides. But Scarborough’s also a hotspot for culture vultures, with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum alongside regular festivals and events throughout the year. Fab Filey is even closer: this Edwardian town has a five-mile stretch of sand and is backed by the peninsula and cliffs of Filey Brigg – this is the place to birdwatch and wildlife spot, with rockpools along the beach and many species of birds and beasts to see all year round. The 110-mile Cleveland Way starts here for hiking your way around Yorkshire’s history and heritage: Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and Dracula tales, Mount Grace Priory and Rievaulx Abbey are all along the route. Away from the seaside and vampires, puff between Whitby and Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, veer between villages in the North York Moors National Park or get citified around York and Hull, all within easy driving distance of Crows Nest.
