Spacious pitches and complete peace. That’s what you get at West End Field, a back-to-basics campsite five minutes’ drive from Ulrome village and several North Sea beaches in East Yorkshire. Facilities at this nearly wild pop-up site include loos, drinking water and chemical waste facilities. You'll need to pack torches and batteries, along with all your camping gear. Pitches are nice and flat, and approached by a mown track across the two-acre camping field, with space for parking by your tent. The site is very dog-friendly too (the owners have their own), and you can exercise your pets on Barmston Beach (five minutes’ drive/15 minutes’ walk). There’s a small store and a pub in Skipsea (five minutes), and a fish and chip shop down on the beach (also five minutes). For more serious shopping sprees, the historic market town of Beverley is half an hour’s drive away. Days out exploring the region might take in the comic antics of the puffins at Royal Society for the Protection of Birds-owned Bempton Cliffs (25 minutes). There are spectacular walks and cycle rides along rugged east-coast cliffs, and seaside fun to be had in Bridlington (15 minutes) amusement arcades.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Simple site. 2 portaloos, a tap and a bin. Field is level. The loos ran out of toilet paper a couple of times (we bring our own anyway). No on site lighting at night. Campsite next to a B road. Fairly busy during the day but not too bad at night. 2 large groups of young campers when we stayed but perfectly behaved. Price is reasonable.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked Lovely flat field, easy access from the main road, large enough to park well away from said road and traffic noise.
There were portaloos but I didn’t use them as my van is self contained so can’t comment. Took my 2 dogs and they absolutely loved it and the space they had to move around. The walk to the beach was beautiful once you’d done the first section which was main road with no footpath. It took me quite a bit longer than the 15 minutes stated but was all good and the beach was well worth the walk, beautiful and peaceful.

Not a great deal to say. A flat field. Two portaloos.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Beautiful field views, and the village church in the distance. Basic site, as reflected in the price, but it had everything I needed for a one night stay ...water, a loo, and a rubbish /recycling bin. The field was very spacious, flat and quiet (I was the only one there to be honest! 😅) even though there was some traffic noise it really wasn't a problem as the field was just lovely, and it was quiet enough in the evening. The location was ideal for me as I wanted to be a short drive from Bridlington and Flambourgh. I did meet the owners when I arrived, (they were doing some maintenance and grass cutting) Andrew and Billie-Jo who were lovely and very helpful, oh and their 2 adorable black Labradors who were having a good run around 😊.
