- In a walker's paradise a few miles from the Suffolk coast
- Shop on site selling bait
Fancy some farm fishing? Field Farm Fisheries is a small, family-run and friendly farm in Wrentham, Suffolk, stuffed to the gills with coarse fish over its six good-sized fishing ponds.
The farm is also a top spot for wanders, as it has easy access to excellent walks nearby, and for coastal and seaside days, as the Suffolk coast is only a few miles away. Southwold, Walberswick, Halesworth and Beccles are all within a short drive.
The well-kept amenities at this peaceful place include four showers, toilet blocks, hot water taps, two washing-up sinks, a fresh water supply and a chemical waste disposal point.
The angling on site covers all ages and ability levels; there's also a shop on site with a good selection of bait and tackle maggots.

Local attractions
Among the Field Farm Fisheries family's most topping local picks is a day at Southwold a few miles away, for the local brewery tours, beach, museum and spectacular Southwold Pier. The town's Henham Park is also the venue for the theatre events, dance, film, cabaret and more at the annual Latitude Festival.
Southwold is part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB, covering towns including Aldeburgh and Dunwich as well as marsh, heathland and shingle beach. The AONB is crossed by three long-distance walking trails: the Suffolk Coast Path, the Sandlings Walk and the Stour and Orwell Walk.
For a sandy beach day, head to the coastal town of Great Yarmouth (at the mouth of the River Yare, geddit?), or to the two beaches and harbour of Lowestoft, the North Sea town that's the most easterly settlement in the UK.
If you're yearning for more outdoors, Britain’s biggest wetland the Broads National Park is a spiffing nearby option for boating, biking, hiking and wildlife watching along its seven rivers, 63 broads, 28 Sites of Special Scientific Interest and eight national nature reserves.
Or have a themed family day out at Pleasurewood Hills theme park and Africa Alive! wildlife park, both within a short drive.
