Liked: Lovely peaceful site away from main tourist area , pub on the doorstep although we didn't use it. Simple low key and a great spot by the ferry. Nice walk or cycle routes. Pitches a reasonable size and level. We really liked our stay here and will definitely return.
Disliked: The facilities are pretty basic, but adequate. Looks a bit tired but its functional. Really didn't bother us but may some people. The hot water wasn't working in the washup area although once reported was soon fixed.

Disliked: Toilet and shower block not as clean as previous visits, lock broken on one shower so 2 functional showers for 50+ campers but didn't spoil our stay

Liked: Very well laid out site, with suitably sized pitches, in an area with views across open fields and pleasant riverside walks.
Check in was simple, where your pitch was displayed on a board at the entrance and you just found your allocated spot and set up.
Having a pub nearby was handy, although we hadn't realised that they close early on Sundays (our stay was during Easter weekend,) but it certainly didn't affect the stay.
The site is pet friendly with a dog walking field.
In the nearby village, which is a short 5 minute drive away, there's a small convenience store, a chip shop, 2 further very good pubs and a couple of very pleasant café/ tearooms. Oh and Pettits Adventure Park is also just up the road.
Disliked: Toilet block is not suitable for disabled; to access it involves climbing 3 very steep steps so I feel that the addition of a ramp could be beneficial. Also, the shower cubicles could do with a separating partition and maybe a folding seat.
Some of the lighting wasn't working so it left areas of the site quite dark.

Liked: Beautiful surroundings, well appointed campsite. Toilet blocks 7/10. Fantastic walks into the village. Really good roast in the pub on Easter sunday.
Disliked: The central toilet block could do with some TLC and is not really big enough for the whole campsite. I thought there was another one near the entrance but I couldn't find it. Also the day we left the ladies was closed due to problems so the only option was the pub.
We visited the pub twice over the weekend and they were woefully understaffed, I think this was due to illness however they knew on Thursday that they would be only two staff on Easter Sunday and still didn't manage to get anyone else in. There were long waits on Sunday but that being said, the staff did their absolute best and the food was delicious.
90% the issues we encountered were unique to our stay and unfortunate and I wouldn't let them put me off going back.

Liked: New, well looked after toilets. Lovely pitch and great space. A bit crowded over the Easter period but not noisy, everyone was quiet from 10.00 pm. Very dog friendly and lots of places to walk direct from the pitch. There were two fishing lakes, one wasnt in use at the time but the other looked good (according to my other half). Didnt get to the pub as we werent there long enough but apparently it was lovely. Everyone very friendly. Will no doubt revisit.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike
