  • Well-maintained site with excellent facilities
  • A few miles from the Norfolk coast
  • Sixteen luxury bathrooms on site with individual showers and loos
Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Pine-ing to return or to see it for the first time? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, near King's Lynn inland and Heacham and Hunstanton on the coastline – this is such a royally good region that King Charles and his cohorts have a pad at Sandringham just a mile away. If the king were camping, it's a fairly safe bet he would like the up to date and excellently kept amenities at Pine Cones too: 16 warm luxury bathrooms, all with their own shower, toilets, basin and storage racks; a roomy, indoors washing-up area with several sinks and plenty of drainer space; and a washing machine and dryer in a separate room to sort out the laundry. Once the essentials are sorted, send the kids off to the adventure playground to try out the treehouse, rope ladders and high level walkway, and settle down in the picnic area with coffee and eats… there's a coffee machine on site and the well-stocked shop sells a good selection of items including bread, milk, and fresh and frozen food. A selection of outdoor gym equipment is also available for the energetic holidaymaker. Off site, Pine Cones is about a mile from the nearest pub the Feathers, or trot off to award-winning the Coach and Horses. Both are in nearby Dersingham village, where there's also a supermarket, takeaway and coffee shop dishing up homemade cakes daily.

What customers say

This tidy campsite gets props for helpful staff, spotless loos (even heated ones!), and being tops for exploring the Norfolk coast and Sandringham. Folks love the roomy spots, doggy facilities, and on-site pub. Road noise is rarely an issue. Highly recommended!

Pine Views fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Friendly helpful staff, nice little bar area - didn’t try the food but it looked good.

Pitches were a good size but needed a bit of tlc - stinging nettles and weeds around the edges etc.

Lovely walks of various lengths with directions available at reception. Recommendations for pubs etc were also great.

Toilets were cleaned frequently but the decor made them feel oppressive and grubby, and we think there maybe a “drain issue” - by the evening one block was definitely a bit stinky, as were some of the fully serviced pitch drains

Disliked Road noise - we were uneasy , when the address was “Dersingham Bypass” but didn’t think it would be as bad as it was - constant heavy traffic, which quietened a little after around midnight but increased again from around 4am.

I’m a music lover, but didn’t appreciate the radio playing so loudly in the toilet blocks, decreasing the volume by a notch or two would’ve made showering more pleasant.

Pine Views fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Loved this site. Reception really helpful with walks and advice on local area. Food from the on-site fish & chips was lovely. The bar area was lovely with inside or outside seating. Very clean and well kept. Great fully serviced pitches. Shower rooms great as had sink and toilets included - again clean and well maintained. Wi-Fi worked really well.
Previous comments about the road noise may concern some but you really do get quickly used to it and it didn’t bother us at all. We would definitely stay again and dogs are very welcome.

Disliked My only comment would be that a separate toilet would be useful, just so you don’t tie up a shower cubicle. The site wasn’t over busy but I can imagine it could be a problem - just a suggestion.

Sandy Acres powered grass and sand site (small)

Liked Everything. Well run, clean really good bathrooms and best pot wash area we have been to. Very helpful with maps for walking - pleasant walk to Sandringham but make a note where you are on the route for your return - we got lost because we didn’t 🤣

Disliked Washroom floors are wet a lot of the time and can appear to be unclean due to the wet room design. Traffic noise late at night.

Pine Views fully-serviced concrete and grass site

Liked Upon arrival was greeted by Martin, a very pleasant guy , very helpful and welcoming.
The site layout was brilliant , although very busy didn’t feel crowded.
A quaint little home spun bar which was very nice and had food on offer 3 nights a week , burger Wednesday , fish Friday and pizza Saturday.
All pitch the weather was inclement at times but didn’t detract from a good break on an exceptional types catered for and the toilet and shower facilities were excellent .
Perfect for exploring the west Norfolk coast.

Disliked Weather was inclement but didn’t detract from an excellent stay.
Even in the rain everything was kept clean and mud free .

Sorry dislikes, pitch hard stand area got waterlogged . But again the rain was torrential for 2 days.

Pine Views camping pod

Liked We had such a lovely stay at Pinecones in one of their pods! The self check in process was super easy – there was a pack ready with my name on it, full of useful info. There were two of us, plus our baby and two dogs, and the pod was just perfect for us. It was clean and really well equipped with a kettle, toaster, cooker and mini fridge which all came in very handy. The double bed was really comfy too!

The facilities on site were fantastic – the toilets were honestly the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campsite!

We’ve already said we’ll definitely be back again. A brilliant spot for a relaxing stay – highly recommend!

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping – after a day at Sandringham, but of course, to wave at the king first... Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
