  • Near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads
  • Two parks in one: family-oriented and more quiet sections
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, crazy golf, bar and restaurant
If you can’t decide whether to opt for an idle break or something a bit more lively, then have the best of both at Breydon Water Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. It’s essentially two parks in one: the first is Yare Village, for those looking for an active, family-oriented vibe, with its toasty outdoor pool (open from May to September, weather permitting), crazy golf, and a buzzing schedule of sports, kids’ activities and evening entertainment. Just 10 minutes’ walk away is the more sedate Bure Village, where there’s an indoor pool and a fully-equipped gym. The site also has wifi in the Waterside bar and restaurant.

Liked: Football pitch area, reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The toilets were always dirty with no toilet roll. No toilet roll in the toilets in the pool area. The outside pool was dirty with rubbish floating in it. The lifeguards in both pools had no interest in cleaning at all and just sat around chatting or on their phones. Having to wait until 10:15am for the pool to open when from 10am to 10:15am the lifeguards pushed a squeegy mop around but didn't bother to actually pick up litter from around the pool. Overpriced and poor quality food in the entertainment hub.

Liked: It has a lot of facilities for kids, the indoor swimming pool is good.(I didn't use the outdoor one, 3 days stay doesn't have enough time to play everything.)
The playground is well-maintained, and kids can have fun even if they aren't interested in the activities at that moment.
All staff are nice and helpful and the welcome pack is useful giving everything you need to know for your stay.
Toliet, shower, water point, waste water and washup area are next to each other in a good separation, nice and clean.

Disliked: The only and major complaint is the shower, it is the one-button pressing type of shower, cannot control the temperature and it is too short for 1 press(not even 5 seconds), I can finish my hair in 1 press. It will be great, if it can last for 10 seconds.

Liked: Location, everything you could possibly need in sense of shops are a short drive away
Beautiful walks to be had directly from the site
Play park was lovely

Disliked: Loud music and children playing loudly until midnight every night - perhaps a warden going round to gently remind people to be mindful of others after a certain time would help.
Pitch was dusty and extremely uneven with deep holes in the ground.

Liked: Close to bus stop.

Disliked: Travellers allowed on site, mess everywhere. No grass on pitch, just dust, don't wear open shoes or white socks! Swimming pool closed more than it was open and is quite a walk to other site. Showers, have to keep hand on button, as mentioned in previous reviews.

Liked: Lovely park had a nice first 4 days on site clean to a fault

Disliked: The last two days we were surrounded by travellers either side of us and in front who made camp life a nightmare they were noisy and kids running around all hours, the parents took over empty plots and held a party until 2:30 am Sunday night It wasn't the camps fault apart from not vetting the people coming onto the park won't go back again oh yes the travellers ruined the ablutions block and left rubbish everywhere

Powered grass site

Liked: Liked the pitch size, closeness of shower block/toilets, the pool and gym.

Disliked: The fact we was on a different site to the indoor pool, the outdoor one on our site was shut, also the shop is the other site as well. Launderette is expensive, not much for adults in evening.

Local attractions

Great Yarmouth, a short drive away, has masses of attractions – too many to list here, but to give you an idea: the Sea Life aquarium, the exhilarating indoor circuit at Karting 2000, mini choo-choos and tiny townsfolk at Merrivale Model Village and Gardens, and the Elizabethan House Museum, where visitors can don Tudor fashions and find out what life was really like below stairs for Victorian scullery maids. There are more than 50 acres of adrenaline rides, plus parrot and sea lion shows and an Alpine chair lift at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft. For those seeking more genteel pursuits, also near Lowestoft is Somerleyton Hall, a Tudor-Jacobean pile with pleasure gardens and a maze, home to the Crossley Carpets dynasty. Drive a little further and you can explore the wetlands and waterways of the Norfolk Broads, or head south to gorgeous Southwold and Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
