  • Traditional family site in meadows around a working farm
  • Away from main roads, half an hour's drive from Norwich
  • Shop on site; wildlife haven with woodland and plenty of space
Your fledglings should love this farm site – and those in charge of the flock are very likely to agree. Park Farm Camping is a family- and dog-friendly site just outside the peaceful village of Swanton Morley in rural Norfolk, half an hour's drive away from Norwich. Run by locals, Hannah and Ryan, the site's grass pitches are simple but don't skimp on amenities either; there is a heated shower and toilet block. The pitches are in meadows around a working farm, with wildlife all around and farm animals to see in the next field. The village pub and shop are only a 15-minute walk away, although there is also a small shop on site where guests can pick up essentials. There’s heaps of space even in the height of summer for all the herd (including the dog) to run around, as well as a wood to explore and a small play area to swing around – with everything secluded away from main roads for chicks to be safely free range. All this, and campfires are allowed too. Use Park Farm Camping as a base to explore north Norfolk and Norwich, or stay close to home and explore the paths and lanes for walking and pedalling around the Wensum Valley: leaflets and brochures on acres’ worth of visitor attractions are at the Park Farm reception. The River Wensum is on the edge of the farm estate with free fishing for site guests on the two miles where the river flows through nearby Castle Farm (not available during the season from mid-March to mid-June). Wifi is on site, but as a rural location, signal strength and speed vary; general browsing or messaging is usually okay.

What customers say

Quiet rural campsite gets thumbs up for friendly owners, clean loos & ample space. Staff are a gem, grounds are tidy & hot water's always on. Showers are a bit old-school & queues can form peak times, but upgrades are coming. Great for families & a chilled break.

Unpowered grass site

Liked The lady on reception was lovely, very friendly and welcoming and because it was so hot she decided to move us to a spot under a tree, this was very welcome.

Disliked The people that decided to sprawl out across the little road for cars and into the wildlife meadow in the middle of the site, they were also lazy enough to drive through it when they needed the toilet. I guess not everyone is taught to respect others.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and we hope you had a lovely stay.

We were also dissapointed about the driving through the meadow, hopefully the rabbits will forget and be bouncing around there soon enough. Plenty of butterflies on it this morning which is nice :)

Liked Friendly staff always happy to help, the shower and toilet block was always free and never a queue, we were staying off grid but from our pitch we were able to view the football field, the park and the toilet block so the kids had free roam.

Local attractions

Anglers can cast off at the Norfolk coast about half an hour away to try their luck at landing mackerel, bass and cod. You could pick a beach or seaside town to drive to every day of your holiday at Park Farm too: seal-spotting boat trips from Morston and Blakeney, as well as swishing around somewhat swanky Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market (aka Chelsea-on-Sea) are all within 40 minutes' drive. Within 50, make for the Pleasure Beach (and racecourse) at Great Yarmouth or the crabbing, funfair and zoo at Cromer, both top picks for seaside antics. Other eclectic options within accessible reach of Park Farm Camping include padding around Liz II’s pad at royal Sandringham and other old houses like Holkham Hall: both are around 45 minutes away. Norwich is 25 minutes from the site.
