Peaceful country escape, praised for spotless modern loos/showers & friendly owners. Level pitches, fire pits available. Peak times can mean busy facilities & a few minor wash-up snags.

Paddock unpowered grass tent site

Liked We had such a great time at this campsite! It’s set in a gorgeous rural location. The local pub, The George, is just a short walk away and served great food and had super friendly staff.

The facilities on site were excellent - the showers and toilets were spotless the whole time we were there. We also hired a fire pit, which was really easy to arrange.

It’s a brilliant place for families, especially with young kids. Everything felt really safe and welcoming. We’d definitely recommend it and will 100% be back!

Paddock unpowered grass tent site

Liked The location and set up was great. Clean shower block, plenty of space and 2 good pubs in easy walking distance. Campsite provides detailed walking routes to Great Tew and Barford St Michael which was great.

Paddock unpowered grass tent site

Liked I was lucky: no one else was there, really beautiful and peaceful countryside, big field (you can choose your own spot), running water directly at the field, showers and toilets just 2 minutes further, they were really clean and I really enjoyed taking a shower (also big), owners were so nice!! I absolutely enjoyed everything

Paddock unpowered grass tent site

Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Spring Hill farm. It is a small camping field and attracted a range of different campers.

The toilet and shower block were exceptionally clean for this type of set up and we’re always free of grass and mud.

We really liked the thoughtfulness of there being a freezer to re-freeze cooling blocks and the availability of fire wood for campfires.

It is a very relaxed side and we were so appreciative of the level ground, which is not always a given when camping.

Disliked The only area that could have been improved is perhaps the washing up area. There was no hot water and only one basin so there were certain “peak times” when there was a bit of wait to use them.

Paddock unpowered grass tent site

Liked The site is obviously well-cared for and maintained, with well thought out facilities. Very clean toilets and showers, plenty of hot water. Easy to book and hire a fire pit (£5) and you can buy fire wood if needed. Nice flat paddock to pitch up in, lots of space between pitches and on site for kids to run around. Washing up sink is outside but adequate and well organised recycling/ash disposal bins. Peaceful location, quiet at night, no rowdy neighbours and the other campers were respectful. It was so nice to hear the owls at night, and wake up to feel the fresh air in the morning. Lots of wildflowers and hedgerows around the site, great for wildlife.
Wished we had stayed for longer.
Our first stay here and we want to return!
