  • Tourer site 20 minutes’ drive from Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire
  • Lincoln and Retford 25 minutes’ drive; Sherwood Forest 35 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches; all-year coarse fishing; pub five minutes’ walk
Set in 27 acres of Nottinghamshire countryside 20 minutes’ drive from the market town of Newark-on-Trent, Marnham Lake Fishing and Camping is a laid-back stop for touring caravans, with spacious pitches on grass meadows sheltered by trees. Of course, the major pull here is the well-stocked, four-acre coarse fishing lake, where you can fish for roach, bream, tench and carp up to 16lb, but the non-fishing folk among you will still find plenty to keep you busy on site. Grab the chance to follow all the wildlife walks (great exercise for any canines holidaying with you), where you can keep an eye out for wild rabbits and take binoculars to spot birds of prey circling above. If you’re looking for on-site entertainment and a swimming pool, this is not the place for you. Simple on-field amenities stretch to a small toilet block and washing-up facilities, and the vibe is one of peace and calm. Should you want to live it large while staying here, there’s a pub in Marnham village (five minutes’ walk), and you can get your fill of bars and restaurants in buzzy Newark and Retford (25 minutes’ drive).

What customers say

A quiet, tidy park with roomy sites and helpful staff. Great fishing, clean loos, and a pub onsite. A local pub nearby's a bonus. Minor factory smells and a wish for more toilets were noted, but most loved their chilled stay. Highly recommended.

Liked We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Marnham Lake Fishing and Camping and can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel so welcome and genuinely cared that we had everything we needed. They regularly checked if everything was okay, which made us feel truly looked after.
A very special thank you to Martin for his kindness and help. We ran out of fish food during our stay, and he kindly organised some for us. We really appreciated his help – such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot.
The bar staff were incredibly friendly, creating such a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The toilets and showers were always spotless and well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable.
We also met lovely, friendly fellow campers, making the whole campsite feel welcoming and like a little community. The fishing was fantastic, and we really enjoyed spending time by the lake.
This is such a cosy, peaceful and beautifully maintained campsite. We truly loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you to everyone for making our visit so special. We highly recommend Marnham Lake Fishing and Camping to anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly camping experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Disliked The only downside during our stay was the smell coming from the nearby factory, which was noticeable at times. Apart from that, everything else was wonderful, and it didn't stop us from enjoying our holiday. We would still happily return and recommend this campsite to others.

Liked A fantastic place for anyone who enjoys fishing and relaxing. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The toilets and showers are clean and well maintained, with the facilities cleaned twice a day. In the evenings, the bar is open, creating a great atmosphere, and you can even watch sports on TV. Highly recommended!

Disliked It was bad smell from factory, but only sometimes.

Liked I had a very warm welcome on arrival despite booking about 5 minutes earlier. It’s a lovely peaceful site allowing plenty of room.

The facilities were kept clean and well maintained too.

I would recommend this place for a cheeky weekend away or if you enjoy your fishing, a bit longer.

Disliked Nothing!

Liked Everything ....Plenty of space....Friendly people Martin really helpfull ..fishing is fabulous with lots of local knowledge and when finished fishing being able to drop into the bus bar for a nice cold pint

Disliked The only issue we had was with people turning up leaving vehicle doors open while setting up with music playing then continuing banging out the music to the point where we couldn't hear our own its just about a bit of respect maybe a little restriction on loud music would improve everyone's experiences.

Liked From arrival met and looked after by site manager Martin, we were allocate an electric grass pitch in a favourable position close to fishing peg, ablutions block and bus bar.

Disliked Unfortunately for half the time of our visit we were downwind of a local animal waste processing factory, the smell was very unpleasent. It is not something I will easily forget.

Liked Such a peaceful, friendly site with spacious pitches. The fishing lake is well maintained, the fish are in pristine condition, and fishing is included in your pitch fee which is also a bargain!
Martin and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming, creating a very relaxed camp atmosphere.
The low key on-site bus bar is a great place to meet fellow campers and everyone was so friendly. The proximity to the Brownlow Arms is perfect too.
The site could probably benefit from another male shower but that was never an issue during either of my stays, and the shower was super powerful and always plenty of hot water.
This was my second visit, both in 2026, and I definitely plan to return.
Thanks team Marnham!
