Looking for a quiet and friendly adults-only site in Lincolnshire for a motorhome or campervan? Lovely – then you could soon be lolling about at Langdale Lakes, 10 minutes’ drive from Lincoln amid a lush and leafy landscape. As the name suggests, this park surrounds a few bodies of water for carp and coarse fishing in fab scenery (with a discount on pegs for guests). It’s an ace place for ambling too as there’s a designated dog walking area allowing off-leash explores for the couple of well-behaved canines visitors can bring with them on their hol. Loping around the lakes is also a fine way to spend some time here, as is venturing a touch further out for cycling and boat trips along local canals or visiting villages scattered around the Lincolnshire Wolds (20 minutes), like Market Rasen, Alford and Caistor. Prefer to mosey about without the motorhome? Buses stop outside the site and travel in two directions, including to Lincoln, the market towns of Louth and Horncastle, and the seaside at Skegness. On return, the site has ample amenities for completing chores, from dishwashing facilities within a well-lit and sheltered area to an Elsan emptying point and grey water waste disposal. The microwave is handy for heating up any leftovers you’ve brought home from lunch at one of Lincoln’s excellent eateries.

Guests love the calm lakes, wildlife, and bushwalks, with heaps of return visitors. Handy spot for Lincoln via bus. Liked We stayed at this lovely site for 3 nights. It is very conveniently placed for visits to Lincoln and for exploring other parts of beautiful Lincolnshire. Langdale Lakes are beautifully maintained by Jackie and John who are really lovely and helpful. They look after the site and their guests so well. The pitches are pretty flat and a good size on a pebble base, so no mud in the caravan or motorhome! They have a little cafe as well, where you can get a coffee, tea etc. The facilities are very well maintained and clean. There are lovely walks round the lakes, including a dog walking area, where your dog can come off the lead. We are not fishermen, but the fishermen said the lakes and the care of the fish is very good The site is lovely and quiet. I would highly recommend a visit Langdale Lakes if you are touring in Lincolnshire

Liked Really lovely quiet site. Perfectly clean and well maintained. We especially liked the on site enclosed dog walking area where we could let our dog off lead and enjoy exclusive access for at least 20 minutes. Other lovely walks around the lakes. John and Jackie friendly, welcoming and helpful. We’ll definitely return if in the area.

Disliked One tiny (probably insignificant) improvement I’d recommend is to have the hand dryers in the toilets lower down, if you need to raise your hands to dry them, you get big drips up your sleeves.

Liked John and jacki are a wonderful couple who are so welcoming and helpful. In our opinion they have designed a perfect adult only site for fishing and non fishing campers. Lovely showers and toilets, waste disposal areas conveniently placed, needy items sold in reception,water taps,elecr. at pitch, beautiful long walks around the lakes and so close to Lincoln. Bus stop across the road about 50 yds only. We are already planning our next visit as there is so much more to see in the area. Thankyou to John and jacki for a wonderful 3 night stay.!!

Liked Our second visit to this delightful campsite. John and Jackie are the most welcoming and friendly hosts. Lovely setting, easy travelling into Lincoln by bus. The nearby George Inn is an easy 15 minute walk for delicious food. We will be back.

Lincoln’s a smashing spot for urban explores: it has a cathedral, castle, museums, art galleries and shops aplenty (10 minutes’ drive). The cobbled Steep Hill is worth a stroll – true to its moniker, it’s the fourth steepest street in England, so don’t be surprised if scaling it leaves you huffing and puffing. Other settlements to have a gander at include Market Rasen (20 minutes), which has a racecourse, and the Georgian town of Louth (half an hour) – a foodie’s fave – on the other side of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The whole area’s also a hotspot for folk fond of flying; aviation sites are scattered all around, including the Red Arrows’ home at RAF Scampton Heritage Centre (15 minutes). Petrolheads are pretty keen on Cadwell Park (half an hour), while golf courses are a pound a penny for those who want to perfect their swing. Seeking seaside times? The golden sands of the Lincolnshire coast, including the beaches around Skegness, are about an hour’s drive.
