  • Yurt glamping experience on the edge of the Cotswolds
  • Less than a mile from the local pub; 10 minutes' drive from Stroud
  • Covered outdoor kitchen, spacious decking area and excellent views
Located on the side of gorgeous Selsley Common, The Teasel Yurts have a spacious decking area that looks out over the Severn Vale and Stroud Hills – a most impressive view indeed. Inside, the accommodation (which can sleep up to a maximum of five) comes fully furnished, with both bed linen and towels provided. There's a woodburning stove in the unit to keep things cosy, plus a covered outdoor kitchen with a gas burner, barbecue/firepit, sink and coolbox. The yurt has no electricity but there is a solarhub to power the lights and to charge phones. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of the award-winning Bell Inn pub in Selsley, and there's a supermarket five minutes' drive away. This Gloucestershire glamping site is also an easy two miles from Stroud, an attractive market town with a Saturday farmers' market, an artisan/street food market and an ever-popular selection of great cafés, pubs and restaurants. This hassle-free alternative to traditional pitch-your-own camping is set on the western edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and as such has easy access to all sorts of walks, bike rides and other rural outings. This spot is also an excellent base for city day trips to Cheltenham (30 minutes), Bristol (40 minutes) and Bath (50 minutes).

Liked: We loved staying at this magical, private spot half way up a hill, giving us glorious views over the valley over towards the Severn in the distance. The Yurt, kitchen and toilet/shower facilities are all designed beautifully, with excellent eye for detail and providing maximum comfort. There is spacious decking allowing you to comfortably be outside and cook, either in the little outdoor kitchen or on the BBQ. You get that wonderful 'outdoor nature' experience without any of the hassle of other campers and with the added comfort of comfy beds and clean everything. It's also great that you can walk straight onto the Cotswolds Way and many other routes and we loved visiting the local valley and house at Woodchester.

Liked: •Loved the location, right on the cotswold way. •The yurt was so high up a hill you felt completely away from everything. •The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans and dishes we needed. • The deck with sun loungers was great to return to after a long day hike. • The double bed was incredibly comfy and warm. •Shower was perfect, water temp was excellent. •Everything was clean and well thought out. •The owners were fantastic and helpful

Disliked: • Absolutely freezing inside the yurt before sunrise, but that cant be helped due to the nature of the tent. • Not a problem for everyone, but for my mother, the inclined to the yurt from the car was difficult for her due to age/medical conditions. •Dogs not allowed

Liked: Area, views, the location..everything on this stay was fantastic. Host gave us lots of info and things to do for surrounding areas, as we had very hot weather the host has gone a sun sheet so a part of the decking area was covered. Bell inn pub is a 15min walk away, lovely pub with great food. The yurt was tidy, well kept and very well decorated. I can not fault anything from our stay, would highly recommend and will look to return in the future

Disliked: Didn't book to stay longer!

Liked: We liked everything! There were excellent eco friendly facilities. The yurt was fantastic, clean and well presented. We loved the outdoor kitchen. The toilet and shower were also great. The location was secluded and quiet. The host provided great information both about the accomodation and things to do in the area. We spent sunny afternoons drinking gin and tonic on the decking taking in the amazing views and made full use of the firepit in the evenings. This is a fantastic site, we will definately be booking again.
