What customers say
Great views & chilled vibes, friendly staff, popular cafe. Campfires/BBQs allowed & farm animals a hit. New loos/showers are ace! Fields can be sloped, occasional aircraft/event noise. Mostly spot on, people are keen to come back.

Might be a better experience on a weekend
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Toilets were clean , baby changing table with some spare nappys nice touch, the kids loved the animal pens by the toilet block. Lots of space to pitch and you can chose where you like. Nice view of the water and hills from top field and not too uneven.
Disliked Signage said to pay at the cow shed and check in but closed walked round farm then told to go to house door, lady didnt check us in as such just asked if i was giving her right amount and closed door, felt very odd. Pitch up said open July to sept for the cafe/bar but its only weekends , had i of known i wouldn't have booked midweek. We also had a very loud group of teens walking up and down the site shouting till the early hours so decided to only stay 1 night despite paying for two.

There was nothing I liked about…
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked There was nothing I liked about this campsite.
Disliked Site was busy & noisy. Facilities poorly maintained and up a steep hill some distance from the field. Cafe/bar was closed from Sun 5pm to Thurs, despite it being peak season. Intermittent smell of sewage/cow dung? Site is on one of the main flight paths for Manchester airport so planes flying over constantly. Altogether not a pleasant stay.

From the manager: The campsite was busy and noisy, because it is peak season as you mentioned.
It's a farm first and foremost, so possibly the pigs or goats, the camping is a diversification, maybe you would be better suited to Butlins or a more commercial campsite that suites your needs.
And yes we are on the flight pat to Manchester airport but if you had of let us know I would have had a word with the control tower and got the planes diverted for your stay.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked ✅ Facilities (loos, showers) superb and seemed to be constantly cleaned.
✅ Bar fabulous. Pizza was great and staff were so lovely.
✅ Organisation fab.
✅ Location beautiful.
✅ Adorable animals on-site.
✅ Everyone seemed very friendly!
Disliked Nothing! I see a few people addressing the following things, so I’d like to add my thoughts.
Sloped field - Yeah, flat is always better, but I feel like if you just sleep with your head upright and your feet downhill it’s absolutely fine. No points lost for me.
Volume after dark - Guys, it’s a large site, catering for couples, families and friends. Of course there’s going to be a bit of chatter on a Friday/Saturday night. However even saying that, it wasn’t bad at all! Especially as I had packed my earplugs, which I believe are an essential camping item anyway.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Lovely location, the on site food is a great addition.
Disliked Given the price of a pitch, paying for the showers seems excessive. Maybe a shower token per night per person, with the option to buy more?
