Μου άρεσε Facilities - immaculate, well cared for and maintained. The shop was well stocked and very handy plus a bakery which was very welcome! The pool and bar were also clean considering the constant use, were incredibly well maintained! The pitches - tall hedges lined the ‘zones’ creating shelter from wind and some shade when needed and a sense of privacy and quiet. There were lots of trees so it didn’t feel really open like some sites can. Each pitch was clearly labelled. Each pitch was also bordered by smaller hedges making it easy to see and stay within the space you have! The pitches were a great size. We have a 6 person tent and we had room for our car and space to spare. Some of the pitches of the same size even managed to get bigger tents on. They were mowed when vacated and all were well looked after. There were also lights on the ‘zones’ helping to move around on a night. Amenities were central and within easy reach from anywhere on site. Everything was clean, well looked after and finished to an incredibly high standard. You can see how the site has won awards! We’ve stayed at many sites across the Newquay and Padstow area and this is the best one for quality and value for money. You are close to Newquay and not far from other key towns and lots of beaches and activities! It’s well signposted and easy to find. The site has a lovely welcoming feel to it. A really friendly vibe. Lots of families but some smaller groups too, making for a nice mix of people. There was plenty of space for the children to play and it was easy for them to find their way around too!

Δεν μου άρεσε There was nothing to dislike! However, you can hear Boardmasters festival from the site so if you are wanting the peace and quiet at night, maybe coming when Boardmasters is on isn’t the time for you!! It really didn’t bother us but I could see how it could bother some people.

Μου άρεσε Welcoming and helpful staff across the site. We didn’t go to the bar so cannot comment on this aspect of the site but it was always busy and there were never any problems. It wasn’t overly loud as our plot was quite close and we were never disturbed . Amenities were centralised and not a long walk from any point across the site - the toilets and showering facilities were kept clean and there were always staff around working hard to keep on top of them. The pool was a great addition to the site. Our older children who are confident swimmers loved it and the life guards - particularly one who was there earlier in the week - made it fun! The pool for the non swimmers was lovely too. The shop had pretty much everything you would need reasonably priced which was really helpful for grabbing the basics or the bottles of Rattler! Has a great sized park in the centre of the site (next to all the amenities) for younger children. It was always busy, even in the little bit of rain we had. The shop even has baked good each morning. We didn’t get our hands on any but there were many a happy customer walking about site with their red and white striped paper bags filled with a pasty or pastry! Proximity to Harlyn Bay beach was perfect. The walk was lovely and an easy walk to the headland and Mother Iveys Bay. We even managed an evening swim as the smaller side of the beach was accessible later in the day. Perfect for paddle boarding. Overal the site was carefully and considerately managed.

Δεν μου άρεσε Pitch sizes were good but felt very close to tents behind us (back to back pitches). Maybe more of a caravan site? Unfortunately it was some of the people that let the site down. Poor use of showering facilities meant that staff found it difficult to maintain them. That’s not a reflection of the site more of a reflection of the type of person there during our stay. Even though the cost of the showers was 20p for 3 minutes, people still seemed to be washing their sand covered wetsuits in the shower - which isn’t a problem if you are prepared to clean up after yourself. The site would benefit from more of an outdoor space for older children - our eldest loves to kick about a football but there wasn’t a space for this. Had to pay for WiFi but connection where we were was poor. If offering WiFi and with a cost it has to be good across all site. This is going to be difficult due to where the site is situated anyway.

Μου άρεσε Lovely setting and well kept grounds! The trees separating each pitch helped to define the space each pitch had, which were a really great size. We could have fit two cars along with our tent and still have space alongside it! The facilities were clean and maintained regularly. Plenty of disposal area for rubbish which meant that the site was easily kept tidy by all. Water points with in easy reach at times. Particularly found the dish washing and clothes washing area very useful and well organised. With the size of the facilities, it was never over crowded anywhere for use of anything. Shop had all necessities. Pool was a good size for kids and again very clean and well maintained. The food in the cafe was great and really well priced. If anything else was needed, Newquay was in eastern reach along with other places; very central to beaches and other Cornwall attractions. Easy to find, well sign-posted and very cheerful and polite staff. All in all a fantastic first camping experience for our young children! Would be difficult to top!

Δεν μου άρεσε The park was great however unsupervised unless by parents. Having young children, we found that there was a lot of inappropriate language being used and a few children would ruin the fun for others with no parents in sight monitoring their behaviour. At one point my partner had to split up a fight between children not ours due to the severity of it. If going, would recommend supervising children.
