We were moved to an extra large pitch due to a larger tent - it very spacious and the ground was perfect for pegs. Shop is well stocked, from drinks and snacks to accessories if you've forgotten something for setting up your tent! Toilet/shower facilities modern and clean. Very friendly owners and couldn't have been more providing and helpful to us! Fantastic experience overall and certainly would recommend to everyone. I won't lie - I was hesitant before booking due to the negative reviews, but whilst we were having a drink over the campfire, we agreed that the people leaving bad reviews about the owners are those who probably don't/didn't respect the rules that they've put in place on their property/land. We somehow managed to have an amazing time both on-site and off-site, and we are a group of lads. Would recommend this place to anyone.

The site is beautiful and has some of the best facilities we have ever had on a campsite. The attention to detail, such as music playing in the background in the toilet/shower block and the heating being on. Small things, but things that just make the whole experience better.
The owners were great, very friendly and welcoming.
The onsite shop has plenty of essentials and reasonable prices and local shops are not too far away from camp anyway.
Our favourite part was the Meadow. We have a Lurcher puppy and she just loved the freedom of this field to burn off her excess energy in the morning.
The location of the site is good, plenty of nearby sites and beaches, and not too far from the mountains and the lakes.
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Shepherds Views Campsite.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They run a tight ship and will hold the visitors to the rules clearly set out for the benefit of everyone. No loud parties, no dogs running around, respect for others pitches and personal space. Clearly defined during booking process.
The fire pit was great and a very large bag of dry wood supplied for only £10. It lasted us two nights. Two toilet blocks with showers so we never waited on a shower.
Owners seen about the pitches throughout the day and chatty. The Alpacas were a firm favourite with the kids and also had two sheep, donkey and a horse on site.
We were able to add an extra night on and also pay for a very late checkout on our last day.
We will be returning to this site again as I know exactly what I will get in terms of service and standards upheld in site. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Ablution needs inspection as one toilet was in a poor state, i.e., unflushed; I'm not sure how many days have passed. We were there for three nights and were still in the same state before we left.Ablution is not in a clean state. Shower area.
No play area for kids.I was forced to ride at over 85 mph to arrive before 1930. I was traveling from Kent, and I was hoping to be there before 2000 hrs, but I was told to stay somewhere if I reached there after 1930, It made no sense as no physical presence was needed to get access to the site. My wife was really upset as they kept calling about our location status.

Before arriving you stated that you didnt think you would make it on time for check in, when i spoke to you on the phone I stated that i would wait for you as you where close by. I did in fact keep check in open for you and checked you in at 8pm. I didnt force you to drive any faster then the speed limit as that is illegal. When I spoke to you i asked you to inform me how close you are and to give me a call when you arrive. When you arrived I showed you to your pitch and assisted you with getting you an electric cable as you had forgotten yours. Unfortunately we dont have a play area for children, however it isnt stated anywhere that we do.
We do have main atractions such as Muncaster Castle which is a short drive away, as well a beach which is walking distance. If you had asked me for recommendations for things for you and your family to do or looked in reception where we have several information booklets. I am confused as to why you have said you like the time restriction and have also stated that you didnt like it. Our toilet blocks are cleaned and checked regularly.
We do have to check all guests in on arrival and you do need a code to be able to get through the gate, as well as shown to your pitch so physical presence is needed to gain access to the site. We do call all our guests to find out arrival times so we can ensure you will be here before the last check in and to ensure everything is ok with your journey. Regarding the unflushed toilet we cannot go in and check that the toilet has been flushed after every use, this is the guests responsibilty to flush the toilets themselves. If you had told a member of staff that the toilet was unflushed/blocked we would have dealt with this matter immediately.
