This was a experience I was dreading after reading the reviews.

When we first got their the reception was closed, but their was clear indication on the door of reception. giving 2 phone numbers to assist you.

The lady on the phone answered every time we called and we’re there to help with any queries we had. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly.

When you arrive you get to pick your own pitch, we arrived extremely late but managed to find a pitch by the river.

We were unsure if their was a pool onsite as this isn’t clear when looking at the read ups online, I can confirm their is no pool.

But their is a park for the smaller children and plenty of room for them to play.

I believe this to be a mixed site of holiday makers, permanent residents along with a traveller community living their for part of the year.

Their are 2 separate blocks on site.
Please note: one is residential closest to the top end of site and the other found at the bottom end of the site is for the holiday makers.

The toilets were regular topped up with toilet role, the toilets weren’t the cleanest and I didn’t see a cleaner their until our last day, but that was because she was having a well deserved 2 day holiday, who returned to carnage bless. She was lovely lady straight back at it.

I found this site to be no where near as bad as the reviews were making this place out to be,

They do need to give more information regarding no pool etc but other than that it has everything you needed their was a

Pros:
small shop on site.
Plenty of room for the children to play.
River.
10mins drive to Asda
30mins drive from Torquay
Unlimited pitch up space.
Relaxed management- we found all different ages and groups having fun and singing and playing music, I found that everything die down around midnight.

We were a family of young and older children and this site had everything you needed to enjoy your stay,

The only cons would be that they had cover when the cleaner was off, as only the basic clean was taking place whilst we were stopping hear.

The location is lovely.

When we arrived it wasn't the best welcoming.
There wasn't much space left to choose where to pitch up and there was still more people arriving to pitch to.
Someone has pooed all over the women's toilets on the floor and was there for hours.
No toilet roll or hand drying towels and the hand dryer didn't work.
We ended up finding a small bit of land next to what looked like a old muck heep. It's a shame as it could be so much better.

Location

The toilets and showers were filthy. We never took out shoes off when we had a shower. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper as there hardly is any.
Before we could set up our tent, we filled half a bin bag with rubbish.
The entrance gate will let anybody in during the day. Apparently, there is a code but we were not give the code. We went to reception a few times but that is pointless as it is always closed.
The worst about this side and the travellers who live on site. Their children were absolutely horrible. They threatened our children and were extremely aggressive. They cornered out 10 year old on the toilet and were not shy of being aggressive towards adults. Two other familiies and the same issue with these children. They were nit supervised and ledt to run free. It got to a point that our children did not dare to go to the toilet on their own. They used other campers' equipment when they were not on site. The parents watched and didn't say anything. Again, we tried to complain but reception is always closed.
The playground is an old wooden climbing frame that wobbles and makes very dangerous noises.

Location and reception staff were ok

Not many tent pitches and these are overcrowded you have to put your tent extremely close to the other campers. The ground is full of stones couldn't get all the tent pegs in, tents are right by a busy noisy road and holidaymakers are outnumbered by long term residents who had a fire pit burning all night until mid morning making the place stink they even decided to fire up their wood chipper at 4am waking us all up. The toilets nearest the tent were run down, dirty and flooded with only one shower, there was another cleaner shower and toilet block but it was too far away from the tent. The atmosphere is not friendly in this place it feels like you are tolerated rather than welcomed, I do not recommend

There wasn’t anything to like about this park.

Poorly maintained park and facilities. There appeared to be a large number of “permanent” residents as opposed to touring holidaymakers, and large groups of small children.

Good location.
Flat ground.

Cleanliness of the site and toilets.
Some long term stayers that feel like they own the site and bullied not just our kids but near every child on site.

The atmosphere was nice a lot of nice people there , always see the cleaning lady cleaning the toilets and showers which was nice.

I disliked that I had to leave due to work and could stay longer

Camp was full of travellers and keeping us awake to early hours of the morning, kids misbehaving and pulling out our 240 hook up,
There was no one at reception for the whole week we was there, when it came down to clearing our toilet waste we couldn’t because someone had put cans down the toilet waste. Horrible experience!!
