Daily life on this leafy, peaceful site revolves around the heated swimming pool and deck with sunbeds and deckchairs for lazy, leisurely days. Toddlers can splash about in the paddling pool, and there’s a playground with swings, a slide and trampoline to get them running around. Other activities to keep young and old on the go include ping-pong tables and pétanque courts (hire gear on site), and you can borrow board games for fun family times too.
Facilities-wise, everything is on hand for easy-going family holidays – handy services to keep parents chilled include a bakery for the all-important morning baguette and a grocery store for keeping supplies topped up.
Get the kids together for communal barbecues, and for those evenings when you just don’t feel like cooking, meet up with your fellow guests in the snack bar – it’s open on Friday and Saturday evenings in low season and every night in high summer, with a child-friendly menu of burgers, pasta and frites. In high season, there’s a schedule of themed events, from live music to karaoke, and a pizza truck rocks up on some days as well.
And if there are any slightly frazzled parents out there needing an extra bit of TLC, look out for the masseuse, who makes a weekly visit to the campsite in high season.

Thanks to its proximity to the Vercors Massif, the campsite is a handy base for walkers and bikers, who can explore the forested mountains, alpine pastures and deep river gorges of the Vercors Regional Natural Park (15 minutes’ drive).
During expeditions by car, visit the sites of World War II atrocities, including the Vercors Resistance Memorial (an hour) and the emotive Cour et Mur des Fusillés in La Chapelle-en-Vercors (45 minutes). Check out the ornate brickwork and stunning Byzantine-style frescoes of Saint-Antoine-le-Grand Orthodox Monastery (35 minutes), or admire the dramatic cliffside cascades in the Garden of Petrifying Fountains (25 minutes).
Water is also the star of the show at the Water Museum in medieval Pont-en-Royans (25 minutes), where you can taste more than 1,000 varieties of water at the bar, while another niche museum is found at Le Petit Monde des Santons (55 minutes), where hundreds of hand-carved wooden figures are laid out in traditional Provençal nativity scenes.
