Roundoak Farm

Μου άρεσε Lovely farm campsite for our campervan stay. The pitch was clean, spacious, and easy to access, with everything we needed. All the facilities were well maintained and conveniently located.

It was really peaceful being surrounded by the countryside, and we enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It was lovely to see all the animals and they are so well cared for . The owners were very welcoming and even gave us a tour of the farm, which was a lovely touch.

A great spot to unwind — we’d happily stay again.

Μου άρεσε Our stay at Round Oak Farm near Maidstone was a genuinely relaxing and memorable getaway, perfect for anyone looking to unwind in the countryside.

From the moment we arrived, the setting stood out. This is a true working farm, which adds to its authentic, rustic charm. The surroundings are beautifully maintained yet retain a natural, slightly quirky character that makes the place feel unique and full of personality.

One of the highlights was the sense of quiet and privacy. Whether it was enjoying a morning coffee outside or winding down in the evening, the atmosphere was calm and unhurried. Being on a working farm added an extra layer of interest, with a gentle sense of day to day farm life happening around us without ever feeling disruptive.

The location near Maidstone was also ideal, peaceful and tucked away, yet close enough to explore local pubs, shops, and attractions when we wanted to venture out.

The hosts were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive, and the whole experience felt thoughtfully put together. It is the kind of place that embraces its quirks and countryside charm, which only adds to its appeal.

Overall, Round Oak Farm is a fantastic choice for a countryside stay. It is ideal for couples, looking for a peaceful break with a bit of character. We would happily return and would recommend it to others looking for a relaxing, rustic escape in Kent.

Μου άρεσε Our 2nd visit to Roundoak Farm, although this time it was brief as a 1 night stop over on our way home from a long drive from France.
As expected everything was wonderful, great communication on entry codes and where to park and the woods to walk the dogs through.
It is difficult this time of year (February) to find sites that are open so thank you to Norman and Ruth for being open 365 days a year.
We will return and bring our son and daughter in law in their VW as an anniversary gift.

Μου άρεσε Great location. Lovely site. A warm welcome from the Campsite Manager. Access to a woodland walk from the site, perfect for the dogs.

Μου άρεσε We had a lovely stay. Staff are super friendly. The site had good facilities always clean. (Obviously no many people this time of year). It was great to see all the cows, chickens and other animals too. We would definitely go back.

Από τον διαχειριστή: Thank you for your review. Taking into account the facilities open to you to look at our animals and enjoy this special place getting 8 out 10 is not acceptable to me.
Maybe I shall start to charge to look at the animals. I was away and according to my staff you were made welcome.
I think anybody reading this should think carefully about commenting and wanting to come back. It would have been better not to have commented. Scores have a real effect on our overall rating .

Μου άρεσε We received a friendly welcome and were shown the site facilities, which were good if a bit unusual.
Our visit was in January and we were the only people there, but I can imagine in the summer the place is buzzing, with a community space for music, a forested area for cookouts and all the rare breed animals to view. It was beautifully peaceful and quiet.

Δεν μου άρεσε We arrived early and the gate was shut. We tried calling all numbers with no success at all. A good loud pound on the horn brought someone to help but it was an anxious few minutes as we were blocking the lane.
The lane was very narrow and pot holed. Signing wasn’t great. We drove past it the first time. Thankfully we didn’t meet any other vehicles.
The two hard standing pitches were accessed via a narrow chicane between a metal post and a large boulder. Why? The grassy areas were waterlogged but manoeuvring without going on them was hard.

We work really hard to maintain our high level of standards.
The gate washout because people like the security.
I recall you, you turned up as it was getting dark on a dismal winters day.
Maybe you need some more driving lessons and stick to the main roads.
Unbelievable.
Just as well you won't be back, not sure what damage you might do to my site!

Μου άρεσε Beautiful spot to stay at, and an evening walk in the woods lit with fairy lights was magical. Owners were lovely and site was peaceful. The facilities were well equipped and clean

Μου άρεσε What a fantastic site ! And a very warm welcome with an interesting walk around showing us where everything was. Pitches are perfect size and are nice and level. We stayed over Xmas so it wasn’t busy but it must be fantastic in the warmer months especially if the ‘yard bar’is open. Must be a great social space. Information pack gives you a good insight into what the farm is doing for the survival of rare breeds. Definitely worth staying here.
