Syntes ikke om Everything else No one to welcome you to the site. Camped all weekend and no one came to see us? ANT INFESTATION needs attention Toilets - need a good clean and a sort out! Four people fishing from 7am - 2pm one small fish Tackle shop doesn’t sell maggots Toilets are miles away from the main campsite If you are fishing it’s not as bad as if you are camping We had a campervan t5 and I spent most of Saturday getting rid of the trillion ants !! So didn’t stay sat night went home early Very disappointed with this site

We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the lakes and found the campsite peaceful, but we are sorry that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We would, however, like to clarify a few points. Billingford Lakes is a quiet, self-contained campsite, rather than a traditional staffed holiday park. Guests are provided with the information they need for their stay, and our team are available on site should assistance be required. We respect our guests’ privacy and therefore do not routinely visit individual pitches during their stay. We are sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with ants. As a countryside site surrounded by lakes, woodland and natural habitats, insects and wildlife are inevitably present. We had not been made aware of an ant problem on your pitch during your stay, so unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to investigate it or see whether we could move you to another area. Had this been reported to us, we would certainly have tried to help. We are also disappointed to read your comments regarding the toilets. They are regularly checked and cleaned, but we will take your comments on board and make additional checks. The toilet facilities are situated in a permanent location serving the site, and their position is made clear as part of the campsite information. Regarding the fishing, unfortunately no fishery can guarantee catches. The number or size of fish caught during a particular session can depend on many factors including weather, conditions, location, bait and approach. Billingford Lake contains an excellent stock of fish, including some very good specimens, but even the best-stocked fisheries can have difficult days. Our tackle shop stocks a range of fishing equipment, bait and supplies, although we do not currently stock live maggots. We are genuinely sorry that you chose to leave a night early and that your stay wasn’t what you had hoped for. We always encourage guests to speak to us while they are on site if they experience a problem, as this gives us the opportunity to investigate and, wherever possible, put things right rather than learning about the issue after the stay has ended. Thank you again for your feedback. We will take the points you have raised into consideration as we continue to improve the facilities at Billingford Lakes & Country Park.

Syntes om What a gorgeous campsite. Off grid for the weekend Only five of us on here Camper and have a pitch just inside the field so the field isn’t driven on The campers are given a wheelbarrow to bring their camping things in The kids love the wheel barrows The showers are rustic and water warm ( we had a glorious weekend weather wise ) The toilets are a shovel saw dust over your number 2 but well maintained We were able to have a small fire due to the house fire pits. Logs £6 a bag. They have an in house resident cat called sprout who adores everyone And a doggy ( think it’s a Jack Russell ) comes to say hi too. Washing up facility but no toilet waste disposal…. So if you poo you take it home :) which we did. The field is well spread out There was five of us and we all had our own space but people were friends and always stopped to say hi as did the owner too We came 29/31 May for two nights £48 for the weekend. Reedham and acle close by Acle bridge is a definite pub to visit for the food people and the broads

Syntes om Loved everything about this campsite! The pitches clearly labeled. The grass cut to a beautiful standard. The showers and toilets are immaculate!!!! We got two pitches together Our third party was a little way along so phoned and asked if we can rearrange them to near us, perfectly done! And they were still near to the toilets. We had barbecues and even allowed a fire No entertainment or shops on site so we brought everything with us Amazing ! Thank you for having us x We went 25th April 2026 Three couples and a dog :)

Syntes ikke om No Wi-Fi, but even though I disliked it, it’s an advantage because we had the most amazing time! Everyone was chatting, no one was on their phones, but of course our TV and music wouldn’t work in the evening so early to bed we went :)

Syntes om Everything a great little site with toilet’s and shower’s overlooking the boating lake. Very close to Brightlingsea. Booked it about 19am and arrived by 2pm all set up with a drink in hand by 3pm Met on arrive and told where to pitch. Toilet coded which keeps the riff raff out lol. Will definitely book this little site again

Syntes om I liked it that you didn’t actually have to have a pitch you can park anywhere. There was two fields one had families on it and we were put in the other field. A very quiet field asked to be close to the toilet which we were wouldn’t say the best toilet But it was a toilet nonetheless There are no facilities on this site apart from water and across the road in the other campsite were showers which we didn’t use The grounds were lovely and the walks even better the host or owner Mr. Mike was very helpful checking we were okay.

Syntes ikke om The country Lane heading towards the campsite isn’t great for camper vans or caravans very narrow. We had to reverse when we came across a van and a trailer resulting in a small dent in the side of our van courtesy of the hedge. No Wi-Fi or Internet, but we were on holiday so that was a good thing
