One in ten campers can't go without hair straighteners!

UK campers and caravanners have admitted in a recent poll by Pitchup.com that 10% of them take hair straighteners with them to the great outdoors. However camping isn't all high tech gadgetry as almost 70% of respondents said that they can go without their mobile phones when escaping on a camping or caravanning break.
Traditional Britain remains bang on trend, spurred on by the Royal Wedding and upcoming Olympics, and this is reflected in the holiday choices of consumers.
Although there has been a vast increase in glamping and eco-chic camping options, 49% of respondents listed tents as their favourite type of accommodation, followed by touring caravans with 15% of the vote.
The great outdoors is still a huge draw for UK families, with almost 60% of respondents mainly taking camping and caravanning breaks with their relatives. Surprisingly, 7% of respondents take 'getting away from it all' very seriously and prefer to go it alone when heading off into the British countryside.
This summer’s weather hasn’t deterred the camping spirit, as 43% of respondents still take a camping or caravanning break several times a year, closely followed by 30% of respondents saying that they go whenever they have the chance. Less than 10% said they took a trip only once or twice per year.
