Motorbikers, mountain bikers, hikers, river wanderers and seekers of spectacular Spanish scenery… this is the very valley site for you. Small, family run and friendly, Camping Valle de Ansó is a peaceful place in the stunning Ansó valley of the Pyrenees, by the Veral river. This is a Huesca haven of hiking paths, motorbike rides among splendid surrounds, mountain biking and walking trails, and spying condors and other local wildlife around the mountains and the nearby Valles Occidentales Natural Park. Skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, mountaineering and canyoning are top picks in the Province of Huesca too, so bring your outdoor kit and get prepped for active day trips. Although it's remote, this comely site comes with a useful range of facilities and is a mere amble to the restaurants of Ansó, only a couple of hundred metres away. If you balk at even stirring that far for your vittles and leisurely pursuits, there's a pool and a paddling pool for you and the kids to splash around at, and a bar with terrace where you can settle down afterwards to sample the menu's full range of snacks, tapas and sandwiches. The restaurant is open for lunches and dinners like paella and roast meats, all made on site from fresh local ingredients. Camping Valle de Ansó has a modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers, a baby changing room, disabled access, a washing-up area and a laundry room. Butchers, bakeries, grocery shops, a tourist information centre, a library, a pharmacy and bus services are all available at Ansó, a few minutes' walk away.

Lokale seværdigheder

Walking and mountain biking trails are near the site: leaf through the info at the Camping Valle de Ansó reception or in the tourist office in town to pore over the best paths and sally forth with your route and your picnic. If skiing's more your Huesca holiday thing, take your pick from the many pistes around Astún, a swish and purpose-built ski resort about 90 minutes' drive away. Almost 40 kilometres of marked pistes are here to tackle, including three for beginners and nine black runs for the experts. If you've never skied before, three schools are in town to assist with your first snowy session. For rock climbing, mountaineering and canyoning, the Camping Valle de Ansó team recommends heading to Mallos de Riglos, around an hour and 15 minutes away. The Sierra del Vedao, Sierra de los Dos Rios, Sierra de Maito and Sierra de Arrigorrieta ranges are all within a short drive for hiking and nature spotting.
