In need of some together time within easy reach of Prague? Voodoo Glamping makes a romantic riverside retreat just 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre at rural Suchdol, where you can cosy up in a luxurious, adults-only canvas bell tent tucked away in a quiet corner surrounded by greenery. Here birdsong replaces urban noise, and the burble of the stream sets a leisurely pace for your getaway à deux. Inside the spacious tent – it’s just the right size for two – you’ll find a cosy double bed with all linens supplied, bedside tables and ambient lighting, along with lots of thoughtful details like a box of games and cosy cushions to make you feel at home. Step outside to your private firepit, outdoor kitchen with all the basics for cooking on the barbecue – and a coffeemaker for a caffeine kick in the morning. Complimentary fairtrade coffee and tea are provided, along with a homemade treat on arrival. The solar-heated shower is fenced with bamboo for your privacy and set amid trees, shrubs and flowers. Secure parking is nearby, with a short and scenic walk to the pitch, which is approached by a flight of steps lit up at night.

From your cosy tent, you can soon be out walking in the wooded Únětice Creek Valley (10 minutes’ stroll), or hiking along a tributary of the Vltava River at Tiché údolí (half an hour). After a bit of Czech history and culture? You can explore the ruins of Okoř Castle (20 minutes’ drive), where themed medieval events are often held. The grand baroque-era Lány Castle (half an hour) is open for tours of its formal gardens, ornamental greenhouses and opulent apartments. If you’re not local, chances are you’ll be wanting to visit gorgeous Prague. Bucket-list attractions include hilltop Prague Castle and the regal statues on pedestrianised Charles Bridge (both 20 minutes), the baroque-era churches and astronomical clock in magical Old Town Square (25 minutes) and the natural science exhibits at the vast National Museum (half an hour). And wherever you end up in the city, there are bars and restaurants aplenty for refuelling stops.
