For a glamping adventure in south-western Wales, book yourself in at Pods at Broadway, a peaceful luxury site conveniently located between Laugharne and Pendine (both five minutes’ drive) in Carmarthenshire. Whether you’re into walking along wide, sandy beaches, going on literary pilgrimages (Dylan Thomas lived and wrote some of his poetry in Laugharne), or spotting wildlife, this family-friendly site puts you close to the action. As the name implies, accommodation is in modern pods set up for two, but sleeping up to four guests; some have a private hot tub for a relaxing soak while looking at the night sky with a glass of wine in hand. (These pods go quickly, though, so get booking asap.) You’ll be self-catering here, but don’t worry if you’re not comfortable firing up the barbecue (for which you’ll have to use a disposable tray): each pod comes with a well-equipped kitchenette with electric hob, microwave oven, toaster, kettle and mini fridge, plus all the utensils you need to make (and consume) your meal. Oh, tea and coffee are also thrown in. If cooking on holiday is anathema to you, you can order pizza and devour it on your decking (a great spot for alfresco dining, or simply to relax with a good book or a pair of binoculars, as you try to catch a glimpse of the local birdlife) or at the bar of Broadway Country House (in whose grounds the site is). You can also book yourself in at the house for breakfast – either a full Welsh or continental.

Syntes ikke om Potentially could be amazing just coming in to season and it looks rundown
The deck hasn't been maintained at all the fence could see hasn't been cleaned a simple wash over would of made it more pleasant to sit out
The light in the hot top didn't work the lid had a rip in it
Just looked dated dishes hadn't been cleaned just put back away plastic faded wine glasses were dirty
A few simple things would make it amazing
Some solar lights round the fence
All the decking and fence a lick of paint maybe just freshen up

Cartref Dylan Thomas - Dylan Thomas Boathouse (five minutes’ drive), in Laugharne, is where the poet lived with his family for the last four years of his life, finding inspiration in the waterside setting and views across the River Taf. For a full Dylan Thomas pilgrimage, you can also visit the poet’s simple grave, in the village cemetery. For more seaside views, you'll want to head to Pendine Sands (five minutes), stopping in at the Museum of Speed while you're there to learn about the several land speed records that have been set here. Further along, Saundersfoot (25 minutes), Tenby (half an hour) and Manorbier (40 minutes) are also worth visiting, and there are plenty of great walks along the Wales Coast Path. Turning inland, the National Botanic Garden of Wales (35 minutes) spreads around a huge glasshouse full of Mediterranean plants. Open-air themed areas include a Japanese Garden with seasonal cherry blossoms, the Apothecary’s Garden with medicinal plants, and a colourful wildflower meadow.
