Dyffryn Bern is uniquely placed, one mile off the A487 with easy access to Cardigan southwards and north towards New Quay, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth. Our well maintained and small park offers visitors stunning sea views overlooking the Cardigan Bay and the Llyn peninsula further north. Sunsets can be quite spectacular. Our park sits on the side of a small gentle valley between the beautiful sandy beaches of Penbryn and Tresaith with its natural cliff waterfall. We are fortunate to have direct sea views from our park towards Penbryn. As a small family run holiday park, our main aim is to offer a peaceful getaway for families and couples alike. Most of our holiday homes are privately owned however we have at present one holiday home available during this season. We offer a well equipped holiday homes with fabulous views towards Penbryn and the north Wales coastline. Each holiday home has its own parking space. There are self service laundry washing and drying facilities on site, a small play area with climbing frames for the kids and a larger field for dog walking. There is no food shop on site however there is a fuel station 2 miles away in Tan-y-Groes to the south which has a small supermarket or 4 miles heading north at Brynhoffnant. You can watch so much birdlife in and around our park such as buzzards, red kites, swallows as well as dragonflies, mallard ducks, moorhens, coots and sometimes a kingfisher will make an appearance at the small lake which is accessed via a footpath from the park, passing a stream through the woods and up a gentle incline. The views are definitely worth the short walk and very peaceful. Swimming is not allowed in the lake. You can follow the footpath from here and continue down through the wooded path to Penbryn. It offers some fabulous views across the valley of the bay and St Michaels Church, which is a 12th century Grade I listed building. Cardigan Bay is home to resident bottle nose dolphins which you may even be fortunate enough to see during your holiday at Penbryn and other beaches up and down the coast. Other beaches such as Aberporth, Llangrannog and Mwnt are close by. Local beaches are easily accessible via a short walk, cycle or drive. For the more adventurous, there are a few different routes. We have direct access from our site via a beautiful woodland walk to the sandy beach at Penbryn. You can stop on your way and sit by our lake with plenty of wildlife and migratory birds to be seen throughout the season. In Penbryn, The Plwmp Tart café which is by the National Trust pay and display car park offers teas, coffees etc and a range of locally sourced produce for their menu. It is also dog friendly. Please check their opening times. Parking is free for National Trust members. We are so fortunate to have superb coastal scenery right on our doorstep, offering plenty of choice and access to explore this amazing part of the Cardigan Bay coastline. Whether it’s just relaxing on the caravan decking, enjoying our local beaches, watching the wildlife, exploring the sea via kayaking, surfing, fishing or eating out locally there is definitely something here for everyone. Should you decide to stay with us, there’s a warm welcome waiting for you. We look forward to seeing you.

Rutevejledning

Approximately 1 mile after Tan-y-Groes along the A487 heading northwards take the left hand exit signposted Tresaith after the layby, Dyffryn Bern is 1 mile down the lane. Follow the lane, it has plenty of passing places and avoid taking the right hand fork exit roughly three quarters of a mile down. Continue down the hill to a T junction. Turn left ( there is a park sign on the grass verge to your left here ) then immediate right. Continue down the lane and roughly a quarter of a mile on your right you will see the park entrance. If you're travelling down from the north on the A487, do not take the first exit signposted for Tresaith 1.5 miles. The lane is narrow, not many places to pass and is frequently used by the farm machinery.

Lokale seværdigheder

We have two sandy beaches on our doorstep and a short drive away. You can choose from Penbryn or Tresaith, each roughly 5-10 minutes’ drive away from our park. Linking the two (and the whole of the rest of the Welsh coastline) is the Wales Coast Path, where you can walk for many miles with the sea in sight. Cardigan market town is approximately 15 minutes’ drive away southwards on the A487 and has a great choice of independent shops, arts and craft galleries, restaurants, pubs, cafes, entertainment as well as Cardigan Castle, the birthplace of the Eisteddfod. There are boat trips available on the Teifi River as well as launching for kayaks. Aberporth, Mwnt National Trust and Poppit Sands beaches are a short drive away with plenty of parking and cafés. Great for all the family. Bottlenose dolphins are seen regularly along the coast. If you decide to travel further afield travelling north there are a number of other beaches such as New Quay and Aberaeron offering boat trips, independent shops and plenty of places to eat out. A choice of other historic monuments such as Castell Henllys Iron Age village, Pentre Ifan Dolmen further south and places of interest including the Teifi Marshes at Cilgerran Wetland Centre are easily accessible. And of course, plenty of cycling and walking whether locally or along the coastal footpath. There is also cycle hire available in Cardigan town at the local bike shop. But if the beach and relaxing is just your thing, Penbryn or Tresaith will no doubt be great choices for everyone.
