Mains Farm Camping and Caravan Site

Syntes om: This was an amazing campsite. The whole site was beautiful, incredibly clean and very homely, with lovely touches, such as vases of flowers in the bathrooms and home made cakes in the honesty shop.
My tepee was huge, it definitely would fit at least two double air beds, with plenty of space for luggage etc. Each pitch was well spaced out, feeling private, with lovely views.
I loved seeing the lambs and hearing the sheep and birds.
I was really made to feel welcome and cared for.
I loved tending my fire pit and keeping warm as the night drew in.
If I had stayed longer I would have definitely gone for a swim in the river at the end of the pitch, or in the heated open air pool close by.
I really hope to return, either with my sisters and nieces, or my wild swimming friends!

Syntes om: The campsite was spacious and clean, I loved the old buildings. Kitchen appliances provided in communal area (2 kettles, 2 toasters, microwave). My favourite: the hot water in every tap including one for dirty boots and paws. Kids loved the playground.

Syntes ikke om: Lack of lights in the night on the path with steeps, low oak branches and exposed roots. Torch is necessary.

Syntes om: The site was lovely, great pitches and the areas were sectioned off so although there were plants of people staying it didn’t feel crowded or squashed.
The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were clean, tidy and of good quality. Nice extra touches including access to kettles, a microwave, fridges and freezers all made camping life a little easier.
The owners were super friendly and very smiley and helpful.
It was a good location to explore Penrith and Carlisle from as well.

Syntes om: Absolutely beautiful setting and such a lovely peaceful camp site. Robert and Julie were so friendly and such fantastic hosts who went above and beyond when my car broke down, I asked if they knew of a local garage and Robert went out of his way to ring the garage for me to get it looked at (laces garage which was also fantastic service!) and even offered to drive the car for me to the garage as I was abit wary about driving it as I was alone with my 2 children and dog! Car sorted same day so that was just a little hiccup in our stay.

We stayed in a camping pod, which was so cute and cosy, and spacious enough for me, my 2 children and our dog. it came with a little heater inside but we didn’t need it as it was warm enough. The pods were well spaced out so you have plenty of room and don’t feel on top of each other. with a huge playing field in the middle of the field with a vollleyball net.
The facilities are great, everything you could need, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer, even a plug in grill to cook food on was available to use.
The honesty shop was so sweet, and handy if you forget anything or fancy an ice lolly. Bring change
Showers were lovely and powerful and hot. Toilets were cleaned multiple times a day, and all taps were drinking water so I didn’t need to bring all the bottled water. The WiFi barn was great for the kids with a few toys/ games to play with also. The park was fab for the kids too.

They have plenty of information dotted around about local walks/ cycle routes/ nearby attractions/ places of interest etc.

It was a very well run camp site and they’ve thought of everything for campers to enjoy their stay.
10/10 we will definitely be back :)

Syntes om: Beautiful site in a beautiful location. The owners (Robert & Julie) are really friendly and helpful.
The site is near a river you can swim in but need water shoes as it’s slippy. This is our second stay and we will definitely be going back

Syntes om: As a young family travelling with my wife daughter and son I can honestly say that from start to finish this place was absolutely amazing in every way possible even down to the little things like a kettle and toaster and fridge and to put the cherry on the cake the owners were very down to earth amd cant do enough for there customers but please folks remember that this place is there home and requires a certain level of respect that you would give your own home for example dog mess picked up rubbish picked up and disposed of bbq raised so you don’t burn the grass and so on you get My drift
