You'll likely want to stay around the spacious site beach for a bit, but when you're ready to go off out exploring, you can head along the coast or inland for Cosenza province sun and sights. The historic centre of Mandatoriccio is about 15 kilometres away, inland to the south-east; on the coast, drive 21 kilometres or so to the north-west to reach Capo Trionto, a scenic coastal spot at the mouth of the Trionto river. There's also the Sila National Park about an hour and 20 minutes' drive west, one of Italy's oldest national parks, home to the peaks of Mount Botte Donato and Mount Gariglione, and named in 2010 as an area with the cleanest air in all of Europe. If you'd rather seek cities alongside your sandy base, Crotone is about an hour and 20 minutes from the site south along the coast, and province capital Cosenza a couple of hours away to the west: take the route through the national park to get there by the most vastly scenic way.
