A 40-minute drive from the city of Seville and set in a riding centre, Alegre Camping in Andalucia is a smashing site for cheerful days out in southern Spain. This well-maintained park’s not just tiptop for its nifty location either: it also has fab amenities ranging from a swimming pool for submerges to a restaurant-bar combo with a terrace for sipping sangria on...
English and Spanish meals are served here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and snacks and drinks are on hand from morning through the evening to keep you full fed and quenched if you’ll be hanging around on site.
But if you’re sure to be itching for explores? From the horse riding facility you can trot on the trails around Utrera (the nearest town at a 10-minute drive away) or take one of the lessons for adults or children. If you'll be bringing your own furry creature on hol with you then you're in luck as pets are allowed at this park.
Utrera’s also got a few other ways to help you while away your time: Los Molares castle on the outskirts of town is a sandy coloured, Moorish-style building (15 minutes’ drive from the site) in stunning scenery or right in the centre is the golden Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Consolación shrine.
Pondering the thought of a picnic under palm trees? You can stop off at the supermarkets in Utrera before making your way to the Jardines de las Delicias park 35 minutes’ drive away on the edges of Seville.

Seville’s one of Spain’s sunniest cities and has the atmosphere to match: guests can saunter across to the capital of Andalucia (40 minutes’ drive) for riverside wanders, flamenco dancing fiestas and people-watching in plazas. This spot’s also got the royal Alcázar castle to roam and the Gothic Seville Cathedral (where Christopher Columbus is buried) to have a poke inside as well.
The city’s squares are particularly fancy, so make sure you putter over to the Plaza de España for a look at the painted tiles and pretty pavilion. In between trying traditional tapas like salmorejo (chilled tomato soup) and solomillo al whisky (pork loin with whisky) in the cobbled streets of the Las Setas De Sevilla old town, guests can gander at the Greek and Roman statues in the Casa de Pilatos palace.
For other indoor antics, Seville's centre has enough aquariums, flamenco museums and art galleries to keep visitors busy for days...
