Under the Corsica sun, with valley and sea views, and mere minutes' drive – or a simple 20-minute stroll – to two splendid sandy beaches... sound good? But of course.
It all awaits at the island's Camping Torraccia, a family-friendly park on the western edge of Corsica. The team are determined to give all ages as fab a hol as humanly poss: grownups can dip into or relax by the good-sized outdoor pool or sip a cocktail under the huts of the adjoining bar, while tiddlers can whizz down the waterslide or whirl around the fenced playground. A multisports court and ping pong table are also to hand.
Off site, Camping Torraccia is five minutes' drive from Cargèse, on the edge of the spectacular 350,510 hectares of the Corsica Regional Nature Park, and in the terrain of hiking trails, waterways and via ferrata climbing. There are restaurants on the marina in Cargèse and several more in Piana, within 15 minutes' drive, and a pizzeria right on site if you'd care to dine without stirring your relaxed self.

Stay close to the site or get in the car for day trips within easy distance, such as to Corsica's biggest town Ajaccio an hour and 15 minutes' drive south.
Hikers can get as energetic – or not – as they like at Corsica's many trails of varying lengths: an easy one to start off with is the one-hour walk to Omigna Tower, one of the three towers of local town Cargèse. For a tougher time, take the three-hour hike around Cape Rossu – worth it for the views – or the five and a half hour climb to the peak of Capo d'Ortu for more spectacular scenes.
Yet more spectacular sights are at and around Porto half an hour away, a place so pretty it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site; from here, access must-do days out at the Scandola Nature Reserve, the Calanches de Piana and the Gorges de Spelunca.
