If you've been sensible enough to have holidayed there, you may have waxed lyrical about the fab Finistère coast before. But oh in what a cracking position for yet more waxing lyrical is Camping Kerlaz, a drive of mere minutes from an eight-kilometre long sandy beach, protected by dunes and a top local choice for surfers, kitesurfers and swimmers: you may at this point want to take un moment or two to check out the site pics…
Kerlaz is a small and family-run site, set in an area of hiking, cycling, horse riding and a whole heap more; it's also near the famed birdwatching waters of Trunvel lake, so bring along your binoculars. (And your wetsuit, for a surf school is at the nearby beach.)
The site has a pool, covered or uncovered depending on how warm the day is, as well as a play area and table tennis. There's also a bar that's open in high season and on long weekends, with various drinks on the menu and bread and pastries (baked on site) available to order for a tasty breakfast. High season also brings evening meal options from the snack bar and tasty crêpes and galettes from a food truck.

Llocs d'interès
That gorgeous beach is Treguennec, one of the best known surf spots in southern Brittany and less than three kilometres from Camping Kerlaz. Surf, swim, kitesurf and have surfing lessons here, or just stay and sunbathe on the sands; the beach's size means it doesn't usually get too busy.
Also see the local ports of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Guénolé, the fishing villages of Guilvinec and Douarnenez, the Pointe du Raz, more surf at famed Pointe de la Torche, and the old and comely city of Quimper, about 20 kilometres away.
A leisure centre is at nearby Saint-Jean-Trolimon and an equestrian centre is within a kilometre of the site. Finistère and Brittany also have many local festivals running throughout the summer: ask the site team for its recommendations.
