  • Glamping tents at a spacious campsite in the Asturias countryside
  • A 15-minute drive from the coast and the centre of Gijón
  • Swimming pool, kids' pool, padel tennis and restaurant on site
Need some space to relax? There’s plenty of that at Kampaoh Deva – this glamping site is part of a campsite that spreads over a fabulous 16,000 square metres of the Asturias countryside, with green views all around to give you a sense of even more open space. What does 16.000 square metres get you? Well, in this case it gives you a whole lot of excellent facilities including a swimming pool, a kids’ pool, padel tennis courts, a basketball/football court, a games room and a playground – that should be enough to keep everyone happily amused for the duration. All the practical essentials are sorted here too, including eating options: you can pick up ingredients at the site’s mini market and use the barbecue area or have someone else do the catering at the café or restaurant. A launderette, wifi area, safes and bathroom facilities are also on hand to make life easy. And speaking of making life easy… well, the tents are designed to do just that as well. No need to bring or set up your own accommodation here, as your tent will be ready and waiting for you (with the beds made up and everything). This site is in a prime position for exploring your Asturias surroundings – a short drive will take you to hilly hikes, sandy beaches or the cultural attractions of Gijón (which is also easy to reach by public transport).

Local attractions

Getting out into the Asturias countryside? An easy way to start is to follow the Senda del río Peñafrancia (20 minutes’ walk to the trailhead), and there are several more nice trails to choose from nearby, including the Senda del Monte Deva (10 minutes’ drive to the trailhead). And if long walks seem a bit too energetic for your holiday, you can instead take a stroll around the Jardín Botánico Atlántico or take a bit of gentle exercise at Deva Golf Pitch & Putt (both five minutes). Of course, there’s also the option of going up to the coast – perhaps seeking out sandy patches like Playa de La Ñora or Playa de San Lorenzo or taking a coastal walk to scenic spots like Mirador de La Providencia (all 15 minutes). For a bit of urban wandering, head up to Gijón (15 minutes), which is home to the Railway Museum of Asturias, the Campo Valdés Roman Baths and the Bioparc Acuario de Gijón sea life centre. Or perhaps you’d like to see all of Asturias in one go (and feel like a giant at the same time), in which case you should visit the model village at Museo Asturias Si Yo Pudiera (20 minutes).
