You may need a rather large rucksack. For a trip to Alicante's Camping El Torres will necessitate packing for all sorts of outdoor and lazy days, as it's close to mountains (pack hiking boots), beach (swimming kit), Benidorm (party kit) and the rides of Terra Mitica theme park (bring steady nerves and a determined disposition). Camping El Torres is a shaded site on the Costa Blanca, 10 minutes' drive from Benidorm city and the Terra Mitica theme park. Torres beach is accessible straight from the site: you'll have beach views to pitch up among, on a green and scenic site welcoming families, bikers and groups. The splendid outdoor pool should be thoroughly investigated in between days at the beach, mountain biking and Benidorm partying – taking time too to laze around on the loungers outside to top up your Alicante tan. As the day stretches into a long and peaceful evening, have an amble on the beach before strolling back to have dinner at the restaurant or by your pitch via the takeaway service, before settling down for the evening entertainment running during high season. Kids should be properly tuckered out by now after a day at the kids' club, in the paddling pool or at the playground, leaving grownups to sit back, sort a drink from the bar, and settle down to the sight of night falling over the nearby water.

Liked: Big space, shadow, grocery at the campsite, wonderful sea beach few steps ahead, clean showers. A lot of people with dogs! Nice. But the entrance to the beach is prohibited for dogs... that's really strange

Disliked: Some street light for those who travel just with tents would be perfect. You can order croissants delivery for the morning, with a hope to get warm fresh croissants for the breakfast. But you get it cold and not tasty. Disappointed..

Liked: El lugar tiene mucho encanto, sobre todo en la zona de restaurante. Esta muy bonito de noche. Me gusta que en los baños no hubiese demasiada aglomeración. Las parcelas son separadas por setos, que eso me encanta. El wifi es una maravilla, si tienes que trabajar, es genial.

Disliked: el ruido de noche es algo alto. Pero es normal estando en verano y donde son sitios de muchos niños.

Liked: Tranquilidad general pese a ser un camping muy familiar. Limpieza en todas las áreas,servicios,duchas etc Piscina muy bien cuidada y agua muy limpia con buena zona para tumbonas. Restaurante con buena calidad/precio.

Disliked: Por la tarde a última hora,en la piscina se reunían un grupo de jóvenes jugando con las pelotas y sin tener demasiado cuidado con los niños pequeños que se encontraban a su alrededor. Deberían prohibir este tipo de juegos máximo cuando la piscina está llena de niños pequeños.

Liked: The beach location is perfect if you're not bothered about the stones/pebbles. Dogs are allowed on site and on the promenade but NOT on the beach itself. The cleanliness of site and friendliness at reception was good. The size of the pitch was good for my vehicle with electricity and water.

Disliked: The service at the Trebol restaurant left a lot to be desired even though the food was great! Wifi was hit and miss at peak times but not an issue for me.

Liked: Lovely clean site, reception staff were helpful and professional. Not the prettiest of beaches but only a few yards through the camp so it was fine, sometimes it’s nice not to have to get the bikes out! The pool was an added bonus as you don’t really expect one if you’re so near the sea. Wi-Fi was spot on.

Disliked: Noise and dust from builders next door but hopefully the apartments will be finished next year and it’s no fault of the campsite.

Local attractions

Torres beach is accessible from the site and only a few steps away. It's three kilometres from the shops, restaurants and chocolate museum of the old fishing village of Villajoyosa, the historic and administrative capital of the comarca of Marina Baixa. Villajoyosa is backed by mountains, in a seaside locale where a town has been settled since the sixth century (and variously occupied by the Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans and Moors). It's well worth at least a day's visit, for its three-kilometre length of beach, colourful fishermen's cottages, lively fish market and busy shops: the town's been an important trade point for centuries for the likes of olive oil and wine. Villajoyosa is most famed these days for its chocolate industry, dating back to the late 19th century when local merchants started importing cocoa beans from Ecuador and Venezuela. The main brand to look out for is Valor, but have a day at Villajoyosa's chocolate factory to see as much as you can of the trade, on one of its free tours or a potter around the chocolate museum. Even more famed in the region is Benidorm, the Alicante party town with five beaches, nightclubs and bars galore, and several places to get your theme and animal park groove on, including Terra Mitica and Spain's biggest waterpark Aqualandia.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
