  • Outdoor holidays along the Tara River Canyon
  • Easy access to rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and Jeep tours
  • Private riverside beach, bar, restaurant and bike hire
Active sorts, grab an excellently adrenalised break at Ethno Village Camp Grab: it's between two national parks in a region of extreme sports, and is in the spectacular Tara River Canyon, the deepest gorge in all the world and so splendid it's a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. Camp Grab is in just the Montenegro place for outdoorsy days, with activities such as rafting, climbing and paragliding all available in the surroundings of its Plužine Municipality setting. You can book most activities that tickle your fancy right on site, including speeding along the Tara past its 20 or so foamy rapids. All a bit too much? As its pine and oak forest setting is a mere few metres from the Tara and has its own private stretch of beach, Camp Grab is well set up too for lazy days among spectacular scenery. And for eats, drinks and general lounging, there's a bar, a spacious terrace with free wifi and a restaurant serving local food. Camp Grab also has a play area, fishing and bike hire. A central bathhouse has toilets and free showers.

Local attractions

Guests can book a variety of activities directly on site, including rafting in the Tara River with its 20+ famed rapids. Canoeing and kayaking for all levels of paddler can also be had in the Piva River, which joins with the Tara on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fishing is available in both. Camp Grab is between two national parks, Sutjeska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Durmitor, home of the Tara. Both are top spots for hiking, cycling, climbing and canoeing; at Durmitor, you can investigate the other deep river canyons of the Draga and Sušica rivers, or cross the mountains to the ski town of Zabljak outside the park. Also around Plužine, hike around the Nevidio canyon to see spectacular waterfalls of over 100 metres high, or get to the waters of glacial Trnovacko Lake, 1517 metres above sea level and surrounded by green rocky peaks.
