  • Family-friendly site with spectacular views over the Conero coast
  • A five-minute walk from Sirolo and 200 metres from secluded beaches
  • Pool, takeaway snack bar, pizzeria, bar, and fruit and veg market
For a trip with soul-stirring views of Le Marche’s bright blue coastline guaranteed, head to Camping Village Internazionale, a terraced site prettily placed on a rocky outcrop 40 metres above sea level. Far from roads and railways yet just a five-minute wander from Sirolo, this is also a serene spot for reclining by the swimming pool or roaming on foot or by mountain bike along cliffside trails around Monte Conero. The site’s owners call the area ‘stirringly scenic’ and this is no exaggeration – guests are surrounded by the Mediterranean trees of Ancona and have stunning Adriatic Sea views everywhere they turn. While this sublime setting should be enough to lure you in, the park isn’t lacking in the facilities department either with an internet point, library, large-screen TV room, kids’ club and a picnic area on a scenic terrace to make the most of. For eats, the takeaway snack bar, pizzeria, bar, and fruit and veg store selling traditional food sourced from the Marche region has rumbling bellies sorted. While the site has a relatively low-key vibe, entertainment’s organised in the evenings during high season. After the kids’ disco, the park occasionally puts on magic shows, cabarets, games, karaoke and live piano concerts – but everything comes to a stop before bedtime to help you have a decent snooze. Post-forty winks, wander down a 200-metre path to beaches that are only accessible on foot. To explore stretches of seaside that are further away, boat tours along the coast leave from nearby San Michele between mid-June and late August.

Electric optional hardstanding tent pitch

Liked: Clean facilities, access to a gorgeous beach, pitch terraces with nice open view, nice restaurant, mix of nationalities staying there, located at the beautiful village Sirolo, dog-free, pitch area was raked every day, staff was cleaning the camping area continiously

Disliked: a lot of rules especially curfews, for instance quiet till 730, but we were woken every morning up by the rubbish truck at 630. Kids mini-club was till 2200. Understand it is holiday and children should be able stay up late, but then don't allow the rubbish truck make so much noise in the early morning. Pool had a lot of chlorine. You need to be fit if your tent pitch is on a terrace, because your car cannot be parked next to it. There were open places close by, but we were not allowed to use it because it was designated for campers, not even for unloading our stuff. We had a bit of a workout with putting up and down our tent.

Local attractions

Here for the beaches? Bag a sun lounger on Urbani (a short walk away) and spend days exploring the grotto and jetty in between lunches and tipples at the bar and restaurant, or settle in at secluded San Michele (a short walk). Sassi Neri, which is accessible north of this stretch of seaside, is even more private as it’s a little trickier to reach. Harder to get to but still worth your time is Due Sorelle, a beach known for a couple of rock formations that look like two praying nuns. It’s only accessible by sea, so hire a canoe or jump on a boat tour from the Numana harbour (just over a five-minute drive). Also reachable by car are cute communes like Recanati and Offagna (both half an hour inland), as well as ample other towns with plenty of castles, events and festivals.
