  • Well-appointed family site with direct access to a sandy beach
  • Around 10 minutes' drive from the Roman attractions of Terracina
  • Semi-Olympic-sized swimming pool for swimming lessons and aqua gym
Folk in search of a fun-filled family holiday, raise your hands in reverent thanks to Saint Anastasia, for she has bestowed upon her namesake a generous abundance of facilities designed to please guests of all persuasions. Sant’Anastasia Camping is a mere couple of minutes’ amble from the beach – a splendid serviced sandy number on a quiet stretch of coast between Sperlonga and Terracina, each 10 minutes' drive away. Restaurants and a grocery shop are within 10 minutes’ walk. Need more watery times? The semi-Olympic-sized pool on site has plenty of space for all, from casual dippers to fitness fiends who’d like to swim lengths or join an aqua gym class. Next to this, the paddling pool is a safe place for kids to cool off and splash about; if they’re itching to join the folks in the big pool, pro instructors give lessons here in summer. Away from the pool, there's a playground; table tennis and pool in the games room, and a kids’ club in high summer. Meanwhile, a range of sporting endeavours is open to all the family – take your pick from beach volleyball, basketball, football and tennis. Come the evening, take yourself over to the outdoor theatre for a programme including live music, open-air films and stage shows. You can also opt to wine and dine at the restaurant or bar (restricted opening times) or light up a barbie to cook yourself a feast.

Local attractions

The beach is very close by, but more sandy patches are all along the coast if you care to stray a little further afield. To get in or on the water, site staff can help organise windsurfing lessons or you can head to Sperlonga 10 minutes away for sailing, paddleboarding and scuba diving. Historic and cultural attractions are also within easy reach: a recommended start is Sperlonga, to wander around the medieval town, visit the ancient Roman pleasure palace Villa of Tiberius and climb up the Truglia Tower for fab sea views. Drive for 10 minutes in the opposite directions for Terracina and its handsome medieval Old Town, Roman gate and piazza with stones from the original Roman forum. You should also seek out the paved stretch of the Appian Way, just outside town, and climb up to the Temple of Jupiter Anxur to see the ruins and views over the town and the coast. Alternatively, take a ferry to the Pontine Islands, a little rocky cluster once used as a prison colony. These days, locals and visitors flock here to scuba dive, snorkel, kayak around its sea caves and snap pics of the brightly coloured houses.
