Peaceful site on the Côte d'Azur, between Hyères and Saint-Tropez
South-facing hillside setting eight kilometres from Le Lavandou
Overlooking Cavalière Bay and the Mediterranean Sea

It has bleu in its name, and it has bleu in its surrounds too. For Camping L'Hubac du Bleu is on the Côte d’Azur, on a south-facing hillside with gorgeous views out over the Mediterranean waters of Cavalière Bay. And the colour palette doesn’t stop at just the blues – there’s also a lot of vert around this Var site (that’s green, for non-natives and those who dozed off in French lessons…) and a real mix of pinks, purples and other shades scattered around the park thanks to its flower-filled gardens. All these shades come together to form one splendid setting for a coastal break – the nearest beach is a kilometre and a half away (as are the nearest shops, restaurants and other amenities), so you can easily amble to any of them in around 25 minutes. More amenities are around 10 minutes’ drive away in Le Lavandou (along with another fine beach) and glitzy Saint-Tropez is around 45 minutes away. You’ll want to spend much time at the beach, but if you’d like to stick around on site to soak up the sea views you can do so with pizza and drinks in hand during summer months, when a snack bar opens up to provide such pleasures. Everyday essentials are sorted too: guests all have access to toilets, showers and a washing machine (for which a small charge applies).

Liked: Die Inhaber sind sehr gastfreundlich, flexibel und jeder Zeit erreichbar. Der Platz hat eine tolle Lage und Aussicht und ist mit seinen kleinen durch Gartenzäune umrahmten Stellplätzen schön organisiert. Die Stellplätze sind außerdem eben und es gibt zu jeder Zeit warmes Wasser.

Disliked: arrived looked nothing like pictures just loads of caravans lined up. v small pitches dogs came running out no owner. waited around times of opening different then website. we knew from look.of it couldnt stay found a lovely campsite aling the coast

Liked: Absolutely fantastic! Easy to find/get to, excellent communication, very friendly and accommodating - we arrived late at night due to issues with rental car and they couldn't be more understanding, we were greeted with a smile and humour and made to feel at home, nothing was too much trouble. Pitch was lovely, had a table and chairs provided, toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. Lovely sea view, very peaceful. Bonus there were two lovely, friendly dogs that came to greet us first thing in the morning. 10/10 overall absolutely amazing stay.

Liked: Bellissima vista sulla baia, personale molto gentile e disponibile, posto tranquillo e non molto lontano dal mare. Molto basico, ma c'è l'essenziale.

Disliked: Molte piazzole non hanno ombra, e solo in alcune si può entrare con la macchina. Non c'è il servizio di refrigerazione per le mattonelle ghiaccio (anche se -a pagamento- in alcune piazzole si può avere un frigorifero).

Liked: Campsite full of character, terraces cut into the hillside. On arrival I was met by the owners who were friendly from the start, offering me a drink as I was hot from a long day's ride. My pitch had the wonderful view over the bay as do all other pitches. They also have tables, chairs and benches provided. My pitch was a sand base that made for a very comfortable floor, not the hard ground usual found in sunnier climates. The sanitary block was perfectly clean and well equipped. The shower I chose to use had a removable showerhead making my shower experience absolutely perfect. WiFi on pitch is available for free, my phone reception wasn't great but functional, if that's important to you. There is a bar for drinks and homemade pizza available in the evening, the bar area was great for a social gathering area. This campsite is definitely unlike any other due to the character of the setting and the family owners, who couldn't do enough to make my stay perfect. There is a pride in their ownership and they definitely want you to enjoy their site, wonderful people.

Disliked: For me there was nothing to dislike. Some people may struggle with the steep, bumpy concrete road to the terraces and the carpark. I was on a well loaded motorcycle and arrived to my pitch without any issues (remember, speed is your friend). I turned around at the top and entered my terrace downhill.

Local attractions

If you’d like to fill your coastal days with activity out at sea, head over to Le Lavandou, where there’s a cluster of diving centres, boat hire places and watersports including jetskiing and waterskiing; dolphin-spotting boat trips head out from the harbour here too. It’s possible to drive to Le Lavandou in around 10 minutes, but it’s also a fine idea to pedal there along the seafront cycle path. For less energetic types a miniature train runs along the coast, dropping folk off at any of the 12 local beaches along the way. Nippers need a bit of amusement beyond the beach? Make tracks to the Speedkart track in Hyères (35 minutes’ drive), stop off to meet the residents of the Tropical Zoo in La Londe-les-Maures (25 minutes) or wander through exotic gardens at Domaine du Rayol (15 minutes). And what would a French holiday be without stacks of tasty food? Source your supplies at the markets in Cavalière (Mondays in summer) or Le Lavandou (Thursdays in summer), and pick up random treasures at the year-round Sunday flea market in Cavalière.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Reception is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. between 15/05 and 30/06 and between 01/09 and 27/10.
Reception is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. between 01/07 and 31/08.

Safety

Vehicles
