What a smashingly peaceful site: settled alongside a river in the Corsica Regional Nature Park (which covers a good chunk of the island), with lush views of Corsica’s highest peaks, Monte Cintu, and close to heaps of hiking trails and crystal clear natural pools that lie around the river. This pleasant place is also a little over half an hour’s walk (or a few minutes' drive) to a huge outdoor adventure park, and a swift 25-minute drive from sandy beaches along the island’s northern shores. It's in a climbers’ paradise too, with the limestone cliffs of Caporalino and Francardo both within 20 minutes’ drive, as well as various other climbing routes around Asco. Owners Dominique and Joel are consistently lauded by previous guests for their friendly helpful approach, and have kitted their resort out with all the leisure facilities one might need to achieve a suitably relaxing Corsican hol: two pristine outdoor pools with spacious solariums and sun loungers, as well as trampolines, outdoor games and a playground to keep the small peeps busy. The shaded barbecue area is dotted with picnic tables on which to host your lunchtime banquets and alfresco soirées, or you can dine on local produce at the snack bar and its terrace should you fancy some time off. For sustenance to get you going in the morning, freshly baked bread and pastries can be ordered the day before.

Local attractions

As the Corsica Regional Nature Park extends over 350,510 hectares – which amounts to coverage of about 40 per cent of the island – outdoor escapades are somewhat of a thing here. Plenty of spectacular hiking trails are around these parts (including directly next to the site), with the Gorges de l'Asco a 20-minute drive away for pleasant waterside ambles. For those who prefer their outdoorsy pursuits a little more up tempo, canoeing, canyoning and whitewater rafting are all available around the vicinity’s waterways. Many a treetop adventure can be had a 35-minute stroll (or three-minute drive) down the river at a huge adventure park in Asco valley: head here if you’re a climbing aficionado, as lots of via ferrata lie around here. To amp up the adrenaline even further, combine your climbing with zooms along a network of 20 giant ziplines that lie more than 200 metres above ground.
